Two Playthroughs, What Order?
I am about to start a new playthrough. I picked this game up awhile ago, but didn't get very far (real life stuff prevented me from playing). Recently became interested in finally playing it. I have played and beaten Dishonored 1 (awhile ago) and I JUST finished the Knife of Dunwall and Brigmore Witches DLC for Dishonored 1.

So, I am about to finally play Dishonored 2 and I also Picked up Death of the Outsider. What order would you recommend for my playthroughs. I was thinking about going High Chaos/Lethal for a first run with one character (I am looking at Emily) and a Low Chaos/Nonlethal second run (probably Corvo), and then playing Death of the Outsider (probably High Chaos then Low Chaos on a subsequent run).

What would you all recommend/what did you find more fun? Should I swap the characters around? Play Low Chaos before High Chaos? Play DotO after one DH2 play?

I am interested in the plotline, so that is a factor. But what would you say makes for the best Dishonored 2/Death of the Outsider experience?

Low chaos first.. the high chaos its easier you just kill everything that moves, in the other hand you have to go with stealth :3

I usually wind up with high chaos the first time because I get panicky and kill things. :) It's easier to run through on high first, just to get a good look at the levels and combat areas. Low chaos is a more carful, sneaky run but definitely worth doing.

For D2 i did high chaos for the less first half of the game, and after getting a good feel for the controls i started low chaos on mission 5, my second playthrough woth corvo, im probably going to do low chaos all the way through because im probably not going to get the low chaos ending with this playthrough

Id honestly suggest doing low chaos first playthrough just so you can get the full experience the first time around, tywn doing high chaos

If youre more timid about the unknown that the game offer (im timid when doing my first playthrough, more so when i push myself to do low chaos) id reccomend doing high chaos tye first time through, this way you know youll be able to just get rid of any issues without panicing

Low chaos

Hmm, maybe I will wind up doing Low Chaos first, then play around with High Chaos on a subsequent playthrough. In that case, I think I will just go for the Low Chaos first. (Whether or not I can do a Ghost run, we'll see.)

Also, about the characters...I read a comment mentioning that the official canon would be an Emily Low Chaos, WITH Powers run. Is this true? Also, anyone know if she went Nonlethal or Lethal? Or if mixed and matched, any spoiler free way of conveying who she killed and didn't kill?

So, if that's the case, I might wind up doing that run first. Then, since Corvo isn't the canonical protagonist, I'll do High Chaos with him, as that is also not the canon story.

High Chaos with/without Power first. This way you can collect bone charms and blueprints for game+ later on. Also on high chaos, you can explore so you can navigate easier. Some maps can be beaten on low chaos easily.

Ofcourse, on no power first play you will missed out on runes and whale bones which is a big set back for second play if you intend to save time.

I have heard going no Powers really has virtually no effect on the story and just makes the game harder, any truth to that?

The New Game+ bit, I didn't really know about that/how it works, so, that is a good point worth considering.

I started Emily and am going for Low Chaos, Non Lethal, Ghost and, finished the first level a few minutes ago, so I am not too invested just yet.

No powers have no story effect, yes... only one tiny dialogue near the end without any consequence. You will get coins instead of runes though. All in all, you can easily combine no powers and high chaos - extra money will give more upgrades for your killing toys, as well as ammo and such. For non-lethal extra money have less impact.

New Game+ let you start the game anew, you get to choose protagonist again and powers/no powers mode. You keep all runes you accumulated and all blueprints, and you get money on finding same blueprint again.

All in all, I think that nonlethal+powers with full sweep is best for first playthrough. For second, you can just kill' em all without powers, enjoying your extra cash and full rack of upgrades.

For nonlethal - remember to save in separate slots from time to time and check you mission statistics, in case you will "suddenly" get a body count out of the blue. Uncoscious enemies may be killed by rats or bloodflies, for example, so you might want to hide em well.

Yeah the dialog options that the Outsider gives, and a couple other tidbits. It does make it harder though. There will be a couple bonecharms that are either very, very difficult to get, or impossible. But they shouldn't really interrupt a no-powers run.

personally I am doing high chaos 2nd in new game plus because you get access to both emily and corvos powers no matter who you pick so you become an unstoppable death machine
