I get spotted... even if i don't get spotted
So i finally get the game, ready to play and try to do a ghost playtrough, this is the first mission and i'm 100% sure that no one notices me, because everytime you get spotted, that tutorial window about getting spotted pops up, and i even get achievement about 20 people killed without being spotted. I spend almost four hours doing the same thing over and over to get this mission with ghost, and everytime i end it, i get note about one enemy who sees me.
Is this some kind of bug, or what? Everyone experiences similiar thing?
I remember there was that one mission in first game that do similiar thing...

Check the stats page frequently to see whether you got any kills or got spotted since both can easiely happen without you noticing.

Also make sure that you make a manual save at the beginning of each mission since there is no way to restart or select missions.

Well i kill few people, but it shouldn't matter if that was done stealthy, i still didn't get spotted. As i say, the indication for me that i was spotted should be that tutorial window telling you about being noticed.

You get spottet if the red lightning bolt fills up, the tutorial window probably does only pop up at the beginning of the game and will thus not be a relieable indicator.

Not that it also counts if a civilian spots you doing something "bad" (and later dogs can also spot you).

The only way to make sure is to check the stats after each encounter (and before each quick save), that takes a lot less time than redoing missions completely.

Well actually when the white bolt starts to fill, it count as spotted.
I found what causes this, when you enter Dunwall streets right after leaving Dunwall Tower there is this guy that you can kill falling on his head, damn brat always notices me when i'm trying to do that, so i just fall behind him and kill him normally.
It seems i must always check my stats, so there will be no need to repeat this over and over. Buggy mess...

No it does not. When it's filled a little bit the guard barely notices anything, at half full he'll come to investigate, and when it starts to become red the guard will be on alert and investigate seriously. When the red meter is filled that's when it counts as being detected.

I know what i saw, guard barely notices me and my stat is already count as spotted, i found it pretty stupid but that's how it is.

Mate, you were very obviously mistaken. I've beaten the game completely undetected (you can check my achievements if you want) and I regularly allow a guard to spot me until the white meter is at half for the sake of a distraction. You're making a mistake somewhere without realizing it

Ok, i've checked it, you're right...
Funny how i struggle trough all this levels without light bolts even show up.

Don't worry about it man, there've been plenty of times when I've been spotted and I have no idea when, it just happens sometimes in a stealth game ^_^

Furhtermore they also count as kill.
I always smash through swarms of bloodflies, but I thought that I can kill a dog since there is no option to punch it out.
Got pretty desperate in Addermire when I hadn't enough sleep darts.
Well I threw a bottle into their room and it seemed to smell like chloroform for them (was a chloroform bottle indeed. ;)).
I cannot remember something similar from DH1, so that's actually a nice addition.

Dogs don't actually count as a kill, you can check your stats. They count as an assassination, but not an actual kill so it doesn't affect you if you're going for a non-lethal run. The same applies to the clockwork soldiers, although it does count as you being spotted if they detect you

Hmm... I've looked into the stats and the "murder" went up by one.
But you say something about "assassination".
What menu do you refer to?
I go "ESC > Statistics", is there another one? As that one I use is a bit less detailed than the one seen after the mission is finished.
I really would like to see the expanded stats during a mission. Is that possible?
Haven't found out yet. XD

Yes, I'm talking about going into Stats from the Esc menu screen. There should be stuff like "enemy spotted", and "total kills". The kills section has a sub-category that shows assassinations and non-lethal takedowns. I've tested it myself and killing dogs doesn't count in your total kills, meaning it doesn't count as a murder
Just Chill Nov 30, 2016 @ 2:48am
Ok, but I cannot see an "assassination" stat there.
Only "murder" and that went up by 1, when I killed a dog. So I reloaded as I wasn't sure if it counts as kill.

However, if it doesn't I am fine to kill those dogs.

...
Santa won't bring me anything to Christmas this year. XD

Ah ok. Thanks.
I probably haven't found those sub categories yet.
Will have a look at it as soon as I am at home.
Ty.
