I don't recall that she did. She was painting away and chatting to herself before I used the heart, and afterwards there was the screen turning white with the on-screen instruction to enter the painting. I can get through, and I can hear Delilah humming to herself, and at this point there are zero detections registered. I can even safely choke three of the clones, still undetected.
Also using lethal force (like crossbow bolts) against the clones is totally ok for a nonlethal run.
I had no problem killing all the clones (choking some and killing the ones that see each other with bolts) without being detected (them seeing bodies may happen but does not count as detection)
Furthermore, I might be wrong about this, but the gravehounds in the throne room seem to also be there is you interactet with one of the delilah statues in the level and talked to her.
(Makes sense since she knows you are coming then) So on top of low chaos and not letting yourself getting spottet refrain from interacting with those.
Yes I've entered throne room stealthily (did not restore power). Delilah was next to the painting with no dogs in the room. After using the heart she did not speak to/notice me.
Even then when I tried choking out the real Delilah in the painting (the one at the very top of the entrance) all the fake delilahs instantly go agro at the end of the choke (even if theydissapear instantly afterwards) and I got 6 detections upon mission end.
To avoid this I had to manually eliminate all the fake statue ones one by one. For the 2 that are facing each other (one on throne and one that she is looking at) in order to avoid triggering the throne one I dark pulled the one she was looking at. This doesn't trigger her like the choke does. And while it acticates the statue to come alive and walk around it does not count as full detection. So the you can take out the walking one.
Then for the one on the throne to avoid the naive Emily speech and real Delilah activating I mind linked (Domino) the throne one and the real one. Then went and choked out the real one, which prevented the alert from triggering from the fake one. There 0 detections.
Also tested it out with a juiced up stun mine with extra range and multi targeted, this also works to stun both the throne fake Delilah and the real one when she teleports. Again for 0 detections.
I assume using Domino on the last remaining fake Delilahs and the real one is likewise an option to avoid having to mess with the last 2 fake ones looking at each other.
I just did a High Chaos Ghost run and took out the replicas and choked out Delilah. I think this should work for non-lethal, too, but you might need to rewind to an earlier save before you took out most of the replicas: take out the easy replicas except for one. Use Domino to link the tricky ones to the easy one. Choke out the easy one then HIDE FAST where D won't see you. Sneak up on D while she's wandering around looking for you and choke her out.
Solution for me: load autosave just before entering the painting in stealth mode, then directly go for the real Delilah
If I try to choke a clone which stands to the left of the throne, the clone which sits on the throne detects me, and the combat starts again.
Just in case someone else will google this thread looking for the same issue, here is my solution (I was playing as Emily with powers).
Use Domino to link the two remaining clones (the one sitting on the throne, and the one standing to the left of the throne). Unfortunately, you can't link the real Delilah too.
Find a place where the standing clone barely can see you, and the sitting clone can't see you. A good place is to the right of the throne, and slightly behind it (so the throne is between you and the standing clone).
Carefully crawl to this place, to let the standing clone see you. Patiently wait till the white detection indicator increases to the maximum. When the indicator becomes "white in a red border", use Far Reach to jump out of the clone's sight.
The clone will start running to the place where it has detected you, and will start searching for you. Now you can return and choke the clone. Because of the Domino, it will render the other clone unconscious too.
Feel free to check your stats to verify that "white in a red border" is not counted as a detection.
But don't relax yet.
Now you have only about a dozen seconds till the real Delilah notices that something is wrong. Be very quick: you need to climb the cliff and choke the real Delilah faster.
If you're not quick enough, the combat starts, so you need to reload and try again.
This worked for me after a couple dozen of reloads.
Maybe my bone charms also helped to be fast and invisible. I had Fleet Fighter, Swift Shadow, and Invisible Thread.
Although I'm not sure what to do if you don't have the Domino power.
Probably you can lure the standing clone in the same way, and then to use a Stun Mine on the sitting clone.
But if you have neither Domino power nor Stun Mines... sorry, no idea.
