Mission 8 Black Market Closes Shop

There is a guard (howler) just inside the door to the black market in mission 8. He's positioned in a way that makes it impossible to approach him without being detected. As soon as he detects you, the shop keeper closes up shop. I've tried everything I can think of; shadow walk, doppleganger, throwing a bottle to bait him out of the shop, nothing works.

Throwing a bottle will get him to leave the shop but the shop keeper still closes up. I've only found one other thread about this which suggested that the bottle throw would work but in my game it does not. Anybody have any suggetstions? I'm out of ideas!

Get the password and open the shop door from behind (as you would do when you rob the shop). But instead of robbing the shop, shoot a tranq bolt at the howler to put him to sleep. The shopkeeper won't react. Then you can approach him from the front door and conduct business, and then rob him after buying the upgrades.

Ha... brilliant! I had already been through the back door but never thought about knocking him out from behond the counter. It work like a charm. Thank you!

I used the Mesmerize power whilst playing as Emily and Time Stop for Corvo.

I just used blink to get behind the howler inside the shop and knocked him out.
