Every Time I Speak To The Body Double He Runs away

i am trying to ghost and no powers at once went through the entire game and now everytime i speak to the body double on mission 8 he either agrees, then runs to the speaker and neals down or runs away before i can talk to him, everytime, i have even restarted that section of the mission am i doing something wrong this playthrough? (and before you ask it is the double, every time it happens i get ♥i♥♥♥♥ off then i kill him and it says "body double assassinated")

Did you scare him by taking out guards in front of him?

no, i did it behind him when he was looking at the window, i choke the guard then i went downstairs carefully and placed him (didnt throw him) on a "normal" bed

Uhm. That does not sound like a double to me, it's a Duke. Pretends to agree then calls for guards. That's what he normally does.

Use the Heart first and listen to his idle chats. Real duke mentions his father, while double smokes.

no, i did it behind him when he was looking at the window, then i went downstairs carefully and placed him (didnt throw him) on a "normal" bed

oh, whoops you missunderstand, i meant the gaurd, thanks for pointing that out i will correct it

also i know its the double because like i said in the post

Approach him from behind so that he does not see you, then initiate a dialogue from his back.

does it show as "spotted by enemy" in the stats? If not, then just go and put the duke in his bed, probably just a silly bug like many others. He didnt wimper after I knocked out all the guards and dog without being noticed.

no, and i am ghosting so you know for a fact i keep checking the stats, and there is a odd bug i keep expierancing where if i load a save there is a high chance a guard will randomly go into search mode from the other side of the map, and it makes things so much harder todo when i randomly get a clockwork soldier moving out of his designated area to come find me

Ok. Another question then.

Are you sure that he's 'afraid', and not just moves to the location where he's supposed to wait for the real Duke's sleeping body? Because it's what should happen after your chat, he is going to wait for you in the bedroom. Do you have your objectives updated (~go for the real Duke and bring his body to the double)?

Are you sure that he's 'afraid', and not just moves to the location where he's supposed to wait for the real Duke's sleeping body? Because it's what should happen after your chat, he is going to wait for you in the bedroom. Do you have your objectives updated (~go for the real Duke and bring his body to the double)?

if holding your arms up to your chest and shaking and going "go away" or "i didnt do anything" isnt afraid then i dont know what i have been doing my whole life

Have you tried bringing the sleeping body to the spot then? I know that for me double did not head for the bedroom right away, I saw him marked on the spot I've met him, but as I got there - I realized that he's in the bedroom already, so I had to drag the body back. There could be some glitch, and you might still be able to progress the mission as intended.

ugh, tommorow when i give a ♥♥♥♥ to complete this bug filled game for the 5th time i will just restart the mission, ya know on my other saves this mission i had to restart too, guess its super buggy out of all of them

Must have been patched because i ghosted untill i got to the door leading to the double then i proceed to shoot the door down since i dont have the key and talking normally to him
