Turn off bloom, should help. A lot of extra settings can cause some strange vision effects with that power.

Turned it off, still the same. Maybe it's the lighting the dark vision hue and the surrounding light doesn't contrast at all

If you remember from the first game, Corvo's didn't work well in the Dunwall day (Direct sunlight which was mostly in Hound Pits). Coupled with pulsing, and an environment that is lit 85% of the time will screw up Dark Vision. Hence, Dark Vision (because Dunwall was a city with a darker environment).

it's difficult to see my own dark vision, because of the hue's. it was supposed to be about fun.

I haven't unlocked hers yet but I was playing on Corvo for a while and it was pretty bad. You can't see anything, the colors are awful. I wish they would have kept it like Dishonored 1's.

Yep, dark vision was somewhat clearer and more distinct in DH1. Very minor issue though.

I used to use it nonstop in Dishonored 1 so it changes how I play D2 unfortunately... :(

Not so minor for me.

If you think that Dark Vision is bad - try Shadow Walk (or whatever that 'shadow' stealthy form is), lol.

I normally use DV to locate stuff\people, then turn it off. Darkened edges of the 'stealthy' screen also add to the visual mess. Dis1 had better casting\effects, imo.

Simple does not mean bad. E.g. Outsider used to be calm and mostly motionless. Now he crazy-blinks around the screen with all that 'fashion-model posing' during the scenes.

I don't understand how to use it at all--can't figure out what I'm supposed to be seeing. And I used it heavily in Dishonored 1. Is there a respec mod? I might as well be playing the no-powers mode because far reach is the only power I'm actually using.

Dark Vision is pulse based in D2. It is not active at all times. You need to upgrade to highlight items and security and such.
