What's your stance on killing the guards and the Oerseers?
Do you spare them? If not why?

Spare the guardscos they are only doing what they are told. Overseers are dead to me

Guards I leave alone unless they're doing something they shouldn't be doing like murdering a civilian quietly on the side.

Overseers I tend to kill them all because they're basically the Inquisition. Religion is the cause of so much suffering, misery and death.

Usually just kill them or leave them be, depending on High Chaos or Low Chaos.

If I'm just doing a fun run, I listen to what the heart says, because it tells you that some guards are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with others are pretty chill.

I leave the guards alone unless I have to fight them, then I kill them if I have no other way (i.e. out of sleep darts, facing 3+ guards, etc.).

I pretty much have no problem killing Overseers.

I kill them all. Guards, no loyalty. Overseers, religious nut-jobs.

I just killed the vice overseer, it's not like I want to create more martyrs than I have to.

You may know this already but if you're out of sleep darts and faced with a guard, shooting them in the lower leg makes them fall over and writhe on the ground. If you run up after doing this there's a prompt to kick them in the face. Wounded guards don't bleed out when unconscious. A lot of my non-lethals are kneecapping facekicks.

I spared the overseers because (spoilers!) If you deliver Paolo to the vice overseer in the dust district he sends you a letter later on promising to help you and keep karnaca clean and safe. The overseers, though they're technically a cult, have a pretty noble cause. However I do kill the royal guards because they're unfaithful to Emily. You could argue that they only defy Emily because they're afraid of what would happen if they stand against Delilah and the duke-tator (the guards in the beginning of the game were killed for defending Emily), but that's a bit too complicated an excuse for a video game in my opinion.

The guards don't know what is going on though. The ones that participate in the coup do. But the ones down in Karnaca are like "well, sucks Emily isn't there anymore, might as well do my job though, and keep these streets safe." And then your grenade gets attached to their face.

that's true, maybe I just enjoy the killing lol either way I plan on doing a clean hands run with Corvo after I finish my Emily playthrough

Yeah, Clean Hands is fun. I'd recommend doing a Ghost Run at the same time as well.
