Help robbing The Grand Palace black market

I can't figure out how to rob the grand palace black market. I watched the scripted event where the howlers attack the front of it and the boat captain is around the back. But the explosion keeps killing the vendor, so even though i've killed all the howlers out front and tracked down the password, the shop is locked and shuttered and there is no one to tell the password to.

Am I missing something? I see a key on the dead vendor through the bars on the window...but I can't figure out how to get it.

Odd I havnt seen the howlers attack a black market. They protect the markets for a fee. That one you need to tell the password to the shop owner thorugh the door where the boat captian is so he will unlock the door.

Not sure what explosion you are talking about there.

It's this scripted event, I've watched it a few times now. The shop owner turns the captain away because she doesn't have the code, there's an explosion in the front of the shop, because a bunch of howlers are trying to break in or something. The captain runs away.

I went back to the boat, but the guards killed the guys there and left a note for the captain saying they took the stuff. You find the recording with a password in one of the appartments near the wall of light. Unfortunatly, the shop keeper keeps dying in the explosion, so there is no way to get in.

You can stop the gaurds from ransacking the ship. If you take care of gaurds in thet building before activating the scene they won't attack the ship or if you are fast enough you can catch the guards at the ship before they carry the stuff back to the apartment.

As for the shop owner dying don't know, I havent had him die. Played through the game 3 times now.
