Is corvo's story playthrough canon, or Emilys?
Let's assume there will be a third came in the near future. Just like Dishonored 1's story Arkane Studios said the low chaos story's are canon. Since they made the second game, both characters story's are basically the same. Both work with Billie, both save you know who. It's the same. I wonder which character Arkane Studios will consider canon. What do you think?

Probably Emily, as Corvo is gettin' too old.
It's also the reason why I play on Flesh and Steal with Emily. She is younger so stronger and more agile than him.
Even if I don't see a difference in their movement, I just count that as part of the "gameplay".
But my personal believe is, that Corvo is a statue, if you know what I mean. ;)
It's really Emily, especially since you begin the game in her perspective. Everything is about her in Dishonored 2.

It fits more with Emily. The story of a sheltered princess entering a rough world and learning from it in order to be a better ruler. I mean sure we could say that Corvo has "gotten soft" but considering he allready had this sort of adventure trying to save Emily the first time around in the first game. Adding to that the fact that he wasn't born into palace life I find it hard to believe he's gotten soft

Although the biggest argument for Emily being cannon would be Delilah. I mean. If you were her and you were at the point when youre about to set either Corvo or Emily in stone. Would you rather eliminate a big threat who is famous for fighting through armies of overseers, Lord Regent, rat plague and assassins to get to emily. Or would you rather take out a little girl you think is a sheltered princess

So I just finished a flesh and steel run as Corvo, deleted that campaign file and then began a new ng+ as Emily. I swear straight off the bat in a A long Day in Dunwall, before I can upgrade powers or equip charms, she feels like she moves faster. Is that just in my head, or are there slight differences between the two? I'm also curious about their custom crossbows. Fully upgraded, excluding masterwork upgrades, Emily's crossbow seems to have a shorter range. Long distance shots I seem to have to adjust my aim more for a more significant arc of descent. Again, might just be in my head.

Perhaps complacent is the best way to describe both Emily and Corvo at the beginning of Dishonored 2. But yeah I largely agree. This is really Emily's story, with an option to play as the fan favourite, Corvo.

I think a few ingame actions and events also give away that it is Emily's story. Some of them can be quite subtle.

A few characters underestimate you and it fits more that they are referring to Emily - noone would let their guard down against a once-falsely accused fugitive who managed to avenge himself against an entire regime.

There's also a few cutscenes where your actions seem slightly more feminine. There's a level where you save a fairly big innocent guy and try to comfort or soothe him. Your character places their hands on his forarm which, to me, felt more like a feminine action... a male would probably just place his hand on his shoulder. They simply used the same animations for both Emily and Corvo.

Then there's a whole section where we're supposed to be appalled by how Delilah was 'wronged' by Jessamine. It's clearly meant to be a way of getting at Emily... I doubt Corvo would really give a damn.

EDIT: Well, I wanted to to avoid spoilers, but it's the Janitor in an early mission, not Sokolov.

I can confirm that Emily and Corvo have different gestures.

Not sure exactly which scene you are speaking of though. The only person I remember rescuing is Sokolov, and Corvo puts his hands on him to wake him up not to "soothe" him.

Everything else in your post is subjective. For example, I believe Delilah wanted to make Corvo think ill of Jessamine. She wanted to poison his mind the same way she poisoned Billie Lurk's mind. She also definitely wouldn't mind him being at her side considering that she has a pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ huge crush on him. Delilah would NOT mind Corvo being her protector.

Delilah is keen for a bit of ol' Corvo? What on Earth gave you that idea?

She caresses his cheek in the beginning of the game before he smacks her ♥♥♥♥♥ ass away

If you pick to play as Corvo, when she kneels over you she references how handsome you are for your age

If you pick Emily and you use Delilah's Heart on the Corvo statue in the Throne Room, Delilah will comment on his body and how muscular he is.

Remember that Corvo was added as a playable character later in development. It indeed was originally going to be just Emily, but due to popular demand Corvo was added for those who wanted a continuation of his story.

Sounds legit.
Delilah thinks that all what belonged to Jessamine now belongs to her.
Guess that also includes Corvo. XD

Fair enough. By itself I'd consider the caress a taunt more than a sign of interest, but didn't know about or even think to use the heart in the throne room.

Yeah I think I would have to agree with most answers. It feels like its focused for Emily.
Hunterr Jan 15, 2017 @ 8:03pm
For me it def seemed to be Emily's story. Training tutorial is her, very beginning is her as well. it also feels more rewarding to go through the game as her, getting her throne and empire back, rather then having corvo do it for her.

On high chaos, you can choose to sit onto the thrown even as Corvo, leaving Emily as statue.
I did that once, was a very bad ending XD
