Blinking into impossible areas
Just wondering any crazy blink stories? On every map I basically test every inch of each building to see just what I can get onto and just how high up I can go. Some buildings look like they have stuff up there to access but there's just no way.

It took me a while to do it but I felt quite smug and pleased with myself when I got to the top of rigging on the Dreaded Wale like literally perched on top of the 6 inch wide tip Assassins Creed style. Half expected it to be some achievement as they had a couple of hidden ones like that in the original Dishonored.

On the docks level, across the street from the "cart Station" that takes you to the island, there are some tall buildings with an alley between them. On the top, at the back of one building it looks like there is one of those rooftop/garden/sitting area things that have small amounts of loot/a rune/etc. I didn't have the void skills/powers to be able to make it up there but I'm going to try it later with a "New Game+" playthrough.

Yeah on mission 4 I can clearly see at the top of this building there is a wind turbine and wind turbines have whale oil tanks that can be removed which made me think surely there must be a way up there. But I can't get inside the building any higher than half way up and the other half is pure vertical flats, nothing to grab or balance on from a blink.

Not really anywhere interesting ...but I have gotten into areas that were blocked ...by blinking to a wall behind a very tall fence, then falling to the ground ....you take damage but it is worth it instead of getting back there the long way.

Do you have the "Agility" perk that gives you a "double-jump" and the level two blink abilites "Greater Blink" and "Redirective Blink"? They can be useful in situations like that.

I should point out though that I have no idea what the building you are talking about actually looks like in-game so maybe that's useless info ;-)

Yeah I kinda do "no powers" except I have blink because most of the places you blink to you could get to in reality anyway but are limited by game mechanics. The more magical powers I've never used as I don't understand how anyone could struggle at any point on any difficulty when you can freeze time...

One of my deaths was trying to get down from the Wale's rigging and blinking onto something that apparently didn't give me a foothold.

Here's one of my many "achievement" trips to the top of the mast

Nice!

There really should be an achievement for something like this called "Ezio Attano" or something ;-)

lol! bonus Easter Egg - hay pile magically appears on deck when you reach the top (I coulda used that the day I killed myself getting down).

There was an achievement for getting to the top of the bridge in D1. Of course, I guess they gave us "Fearless Fall" which is kinda close.

Yeah I did that, was hard finding which bits were technically rendered as solids, fell through a couple of sticky outy bits. I also tried to get onto that boat with the wale being processed but got invisible walled.

I really wanted to go swim with a whale that was swimming really close off the Wale's port. I mean like REALLY close. I should have gotten a screengrab instead of jumping in the water to try and chase it. Of course, I hit the invisible wall.
outside the dukes palace i was trying to get away from a guard when i used my far reach, and clipped under the map

Is far reach better than blink? Does it cover the same distance? Blink has changed in Dishonored 2 as it's now a true teleport as opposed to Dishonored where it was actually just a very fast fling forward because it would disrupt if you hit something in your path.

D2's Blink also is affected by objects in the path, not a true teleport (dematerialize/rematerialize) but the same movement, invisible while moving. The upgrades in D2 are a bit different and more interesting:

Far Reach is more like a grappling hook. Far Reach can be upgraded to pull items towards you. You are visible during Far Reach, so you may alert guards, and often hear them exclaim surprise.

Personally I prefer Blink. Far Reach's aiming is a bit more difficult, and I often find myself not hitting my mark, slamming into walls, falling off edges, etc. Some of Em's other powers, like Domino, are pretty powerful and fun to play with.
well ive only just started playing as corvo, as i got the game on about new years day, but my friend has played as corvo and he says that you do break glass as you go through it

yeah, when trying to get away from clockwork soldiers (btw they are a pain in the ass to kill as emily, you need to do a death from above TWICE) ive tried to grapple up to chandelliers and just skimmed the bottom, instead of acctually getting on the damn thing

Upgraded stun mines and spring razors can take care of those pesky clockwork soldiers for you.
