Is it crashing at a specific place, or just 'after a few minutes'?
Cranking down the graphics doesn't work, but even if it did it would still be a return.
It's not even reflected in the computer's event viewer that anything crashed. You just blink and the game is closed and gone.
I'm finding posts all over about this specific issue, with no fix, dating back as far as Nov2016. It sounds like a release with no fix issue. Kotaku even did an article on the PC version being borked. Just looking for confirmation that Bethesda never did fix it.
Everything else plays fine. The AC Syndicate. AC Rogue. The old ME3. DA:I.
Hi Did you fix this problem?
For the record, my settings are as follows:
Intel Core i7-4790 @4GHZ, 16GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce 970 EVGA.
There are some bandaid solutions that have helped me have fewer crashes.
1. In your Nvidia Control Panel, set Dishonored 2's "Maximum Pre-Rendered Frames" to 1. Set "Power Management Mode" to Prefer Maximum Performance.
2. Set your Virtual Memory equal to your RAM.
3. If you are crashing after 10-15 seconds of playing, your save files are completely corrupted. The only fix would be to restart the mission.
No matter your system, you will experience some crashes to desktop without error messages. Arkane is abundantly aware people suffered with this ID Tech 5 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, it's why Death of The Outsider has so many settings preset outside of the video settings (they removed the character model detail setting in DOTO because they forced the preset to "very low").
Edit: ♥♥♥♥, didn't realize I helped necro this post thanks to the above poster. I'm sorry.
My friend fix the problem with driver for AMD 17.4.4 try to find for NVIDIA old driveres.
You'll want to give more information... like your system specs, whether you've updated any software / drivers recently, etc... without knowing anything more, no one can help.
This very well could've been hidden technical difficulties. Or, it's Bethesda and my failed mobo is simply coincidental.
