Walk speed modifier?
Ok. Forget Google. Searching "Dishonored 2 walk speed modifier" just gives me walkthroughs and speed runs. Oh and stuff for Dishonored 1.

I really don't like the default walk speed, for a game that can ostensibly be played as stealthily it seems mad to be jogging around all the time and no I'm not talking about sprinting - just walking normally. It needs slowing, down my brain can't keep up with what's going on. Just walking accross a room is disorientating. I'm old, I can't deal with this.

Turn off motion blur?

If you really 'need' to be slower, just crouch?

There is no modifying this game, unfortunately that can't happen with the drm, plus the fact that the engine is more or less insane.
Nothing to do with motion blur (which is already off - first damn thing I always turn off in any game). I just mean the speed at which Emily strides accross a room is too fast. I hear you re there's no modifying the game but I know kung fu... Er, I mean hex editing. So I'll be damned if there isn't a way.

Interesting. Trawling through Dishonored2.exe with a hex editor shows up some interesting settings. pm_walkspeed for one, plus a variety of speed modifiers with values.

Changing any of these values in the .exe do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. So I tried adding the commands to the dishonored2Config.cfg (and setting it to read only - otherwise the game wipes them). Again, nothing.

This requires more investigation.

Apparently on consoles (and maybe controller for PC?) the stick can be used to walk at any speed you want. There isn't a Walk key for kb&m users though, which sucks. Have to use the creeping/stealth key for it instead, but that lowers your vision level when you might want to look over objects.

I wish they'd add this function, as older stealth games have it.

Yes like Thief (the original one I mean, I'm not an idiot).

There is a com_allowConsole command in the .exe. I added this to the launch commands Steam (+com_allowConsole 1). Apart from setting my resolution 640 x 480 randomly, it does not allow the command console to be opened.

Why do developers lock things like this for PC games when they know full well, half the time they don't fukcing work. At least Fallout 4 had a command console, just as well as a lot of the missions bug out.

I guess it's a case of being too lazy to code a speed modifier function for standing up, when there's already a key (the sneek key) that's performs a similar function.
Sneaking/crouching is still too fast for me though. Plus there's the black glaucoma in the corners.

Yeh the game needs a modifier like the old thief games.
In the .exe I also found this:
DO NOT USE CONSOLE COMMAND NODE IN YOUR GRAPH. IT WILL BE DISABLED IN RETAIL !

So I guess that means they disabled it. F**king PC hating morons.

I thought I could get around that by adding a key binding for the console in the .cfg. Added:

arkBind "GRAVE" "activateConsole"

"GRAVE" being the Tilde key, for some reason. Doesn't work. Not sure I can be bothered to f**king play it now. Too late for a refund as I've spent over 2 hours on the tutorial and a bit of the opening mission. Just going to uninstall it and quietly forget about it.

Optional slow walking should be a standard in every immersive sims.
Seriously I cannot comprehend how this could possibly be a thing. I've played a LOT of games. And walking... is stupid. The only time I've ever needed it is when it's a 3rd person shoulder-happy game and even then, not great. *shrug*
Jogging or running all the time and everywhere could be a more gamey stuff, but it takes me out of the game, and even more in interiors. Some crazy people wants to "breathe" inside games and feeling they are "living" there. I'm one of those crazies.
This request is to implement an optional feature. If you don't want slow walking, you'll never be forced to do it.
Press the crouch button and you're good to go.
I asked Bethesda directly, they said it's not possible to renable the command console or enter into the config a way to change the walk speed. At least they had the decency to respond and not just ignore me.
Still no way to lower the walk speed? This is notorious problem for me in many games. Last one was Prey, but luckily it was possible to mod it there.

Found one very clumsy solution for slow walk. better than nothing if u like immersion. when u carry the corpse, u walk much slower.
