The demo doesn't work.
It's nice to have a demo of the game I have been looking forward of buying, but it would be even nicer if it actually worked. The game tries to start and then the process gets shut off. The usual tricks like adding the game to the annoying "Yes, this is a game and it needs to use the graphics card and not the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Intel integrated graphics" list or launching it as adminstrator do nothing. And neither does rebooting the system.

Any tips folks?

What CPU?

Need your full system specs, before anyone can help you figure out what's going on. If you're trying to run it on a laptop, that may be the start of your problem.

I am downloading it but when it reached 90% completion the download rate dropped from 4Mb/s to 90kb/s. If I download a different game, it goes back to 4Mb/s, but when I resume this demo download, it drops to 90kb/s again. WTF?? At this rate it will take a whole day to finish.

I'm using a gaming laptop, with HD7970 and i7 3630 and 12 gigs of 1666mhz DDR3, with Samsung 256Gbit SSD. Oh and 64bit Windows 10 Pro.

You could try changing Download Region.

You are going to have to google, really hard, but you can try plugging in the laptop onto your TV so that way you will force the software to use the dedicated video card instead of the onboard one

so you have a 7970m not a 7970. the 7970m is really just a 7870. you are actually below min requirements with that gpu but the game should at least start up and run so that has nothing to do with your problem.

Yes I'm aware of that, so do you have actual suggestion or are you just here to point out the obvious?

Thanks, but it didnt work. I don't get it. I already downloaded all the other games I bought on the sale, but when I try to resume this demo, it automatically drops to 90kb/s again.

well since you did not bother to put the m in your description then I figured you were under the impression that you actually had a 7970 which does meet min requirements. I cannot read your mind.

Downloading the game is taking a while because of the steam sale. Do you expect it to be any different with thousands of people trying to cash in on their new buys?

Thing is though yea - a laptop with that? It's not going to run. As stated, it's absolutely brutal on both CPU and GPU.

That doesn't make any sense, I can run the new DOOM and RE7 on high but I can't even launch this game? The game should at least give a warning but it does nothing. It just flashes the "Game is launching" STEAM window and it kills the process..

Oh and I'm not the one that has downloading issues, I downloaded the game just fine at about 20MBit/s.

They're not on this specific engine, so no they have nothing to do with whether your rig will play it.

(and yeah I realized that you weren't the same one as with the dl issue, sorry :) )

Only tips are to change it to 720p, turn off anti-aliasing of any sort, and to turn all quality settings to low. From my understanding they upped the requirements significantly from dishonored 1 to 2. If that doesn't run then ensure you have the most up to date video drivers.

It is an *entirely* different, and extremely difficult, engine. D1 was Unreal, this one is Void/ID5, which apparently doesn't work very well for some folks, and has required a lot of tuning and patches in order to straighten it out for the bulk of players. On release it was nearly unplayable. I picked it up only after the first major patching, and there have been 2 since then - the most recent in June smoothed out a lot of issues - though every computer is different and will have different results.

The CPU and GPU requirements on this engine are massive, but it IS playable on parts that are lower end or not on the recommended spec list. Just don't expect it to run remarkably well, without tweaking your options and expectations accordingly.
