DOF Not Turning Off
So after the recent patches I decided to try the game again. Previously I was only able to get to the end of the second mission before I gave up due to the awful performance issues (and a headache..)

The patches do seem to have fixed things here and there as my FPS was considerably better than before.

Still, for some reason while the other options in the graphics settings work I can't seem to permanently disable Depth of Field.

I tried turning it off before starting the missions and even during the missions from the pause menu, but regardless of that it goes back to the default which is "on".

Is this a problem that can be resolved via some CFG file tweaking or is it a rare hiccup that'll eventually might be fixed via a patch in the future.

It sometimes turns back on again when you make some other unrelated changes in the options.

You can prevent it happening by (once you've got all your settings finalised) making "C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\Arkane Studios\dishonored2\base\dishonored2Config.cfg" read only.

I have the same problem. I have to play at 720p to get 60fps and the blurring effect just makes too many situations murky and hard to see, and on top of that it eats up performance. I think it has something to do with cutscenes or the spyglass temporarily changing some of the attributes such as field of view and DOF, and if DOF is disabled it get enabled and does not revert to its original state in the config file.

UPDATE: Even setting the config file as "read only" does no help. The game doesn't actually save the setting as enabled, it just enables it ingame and reloads the correct settings when you restart. In other words, there is no way to play with DOF off.

Yep, still not working for me either. Hope it gets a patch soon.
Hmm i found an old backup cfg of mine and it has r_skipDOF "1" in it. my most recent one doesn't. Try putting that line in (including the "" around the 1) at the bottom of the cfg and then read-only the file.

Thanks, I'll see if it works
And yes sometimes it successfully gets saved but reverts back to default if I enter the Journal/Options menu or use the Spy Glass when playing with Corvo.

Luckily it's present in my current version and at default it's already set to "1". However even making the file "read only" doesn't help. I also noticed that if the game autosaves or you save manually it get's reverted to the default setting again.

I found temporary solution, I binded "r_skipDOF 1" to some button and pressing everytime I load save. Add this to cfg (you may change button to something else): arkBind "P" "r_skipDOF 1"

I found another solution. Just put "+r_skipDOF 1" in Launch parameters for Dishonored 2 in steam

I tried this and thought it was working, but it no longer does for future reference. Oddly enough the game seemed to be running perfectly until I turned vsync off/on/off (in-game). After I turned it on/off, I had stuttering like none other and haven't been able to remedy it since.
