Its all up to how you use your skills, but from my opinion emily skillset is more stealth directed and corvo is action directed, but ofc you can do a full killer play with emily or super stealth corvo, my advice is: play each of then untill you get to mission 2, where you get the void powers and check what each of then do and then decide
I prefer Emily.
Domino is way too OP!

I've been trying Emily's powers and most of it just feels clumsy. Domino is an obvious selling point, but it usually takes too much preperation to pull off (unless you like using it, waiting for mana recharge, and use it again, etc.). Mesmerize is really, really good for just stopping 4 people simultaneously (can halt more than 4 with Void Rapture x4). But, for the most part, Emily's abilities can be hazardous if you aren't given ample time to setup. Mesmerize can compromise your location and alert others if 5+ people exist in a given place. Domino may not chain react the people you want at the right time. Also, Far reach. :/

Corvo is just safer. Once you get Redirective Blink you can make so many reliable movements without worrying about enemy pathing. Bend Time, while expensive to fully upgrade, is godsend: use Spirit Water x4 and you'll never worry about mana, attach a Stun Mine to a bottle and just carry that bottle into a room full of stopped enemies. I cleared Luca Abele's Palace dining table with this setup without alerting anyone. Perhaps I'm bias though, considering I'm just more used to Corvo's main ability set, but I just find it more accomodating to a real stealth playstyle: safety is everything.

Emily - Corvo had his turn in the first game, give Emily a chance. Honestly, you'll play it again as the other regardless - there are some achievements that are dependent on that.

On my second playthrough, trying Corvo this time. Even without the New Game+ buffs, his abilities make the game so much easier to stealth, since far reach is absolute garbage for being stealthy. If you can get it easily, the stop time ability and possession make most areas a joke.

There is a bone charm that is suppose to make Far Reach stealthier.

It makes enemies unable to see you, yeah, but the slow time and instant speed of Blink is still much easier to use.

I used Emily for my all kill high chaos run first. it was so much fun using shadow walk in brawls to tear through big groups of enemies mostly unscathed. I then used Corvo for my second play through and found it so much nicer to do stealthy low chaos with him. In the end it all depends on how you choose and build up your powers.

Keep in mind that with New Game + you have access to both sets of powers.

Yes. You also get to keep all runes you've spent and respec, just remember to break down all your bonecharms and turn them into runes and spend them before starting the final cut scene.

Doing a No Powers, Very Hard+ (all dificulties set to maximum, except save game).

Along with that i am also going for no kills and no detection and also doing 100% collectibles.

Since i am essentially playing thief 4, i picked Corvo :D

On the bad side, it took me 5 hours and 47 minutes to finish the Clockwork Mansion level.

But on short answer, pick Corvo, cause his dialogue is better and he really gives the Thief vibes on the game!

Always Emily. The bandaged and ringed Corvo's hand is quite disturbing if you know what I mean
