Distracting Guards
Is there any way to call over gaurds like whistling or throwing a coin like in other stealth games? I havnt found anything other than finding bottles and throwing them at a wall.

you can use your sword though that's more risky however Emily has a power that allows her to summon a doppledanger which can draw attention to itself drawing people away from you.

Yeah, smacking a wall or the ground will do it if you want to bring them toward you. Crossbow bolts can draw attention too (it's one of the only uses for the various lethal ones on a no-kill run).

Gunfire can also work but is the riskiest, and will almost always get you caught if you don't immediately blink far away.

If you fire the crossbow bolt to close to a guard they'll react as if they're beeing fired upon and go into a higher alert status, and may actually start searching for you. Best to stick to throwing bottles or banging your sword on stuff.

I generally prefer my guards to not ever be searching at all so they stick to their predicatable patrol routes. I like crossbow bolts (especially the loud explosive ones) because they can be used from very far away at low risk to get them to scatter if there are too many close to a thing I want. I get detected way more often trying to throw stuff because it brings them too close to wherever I'm camped out. Different options for different situations.

And these are honestly more no-powers suggestions anyway. Emily has two dedicated distraction powers (doppleganger and mesmerize) with slightly different uses, neither of which I even really used because Domino is already the perfect tool to solve the "huddle of guards all facing each other" problem. And Corvo has Possession for pulling guards away from the herd for naptime.

the Doppleganger can trigger alarms to draw enemies to it so if an alarm went off that huddle of guards would likely rush off to investigate plus you can upgrade the power to where you swap places with the copy making the original you now being the copy.
Just throw a bottle in the direction you want to alert attention
