Black market theft consequences 2nd chapter

So I don't want to shoot myself in the foot by robbing the joint early one but I don't seem to have a map of the 2nd area and I saw one in there.....but don't want to rob it if it means I lose a quest or special item availbility. thoughts?

When you rob one of the stores you are more likely to be jumped later, I think. I don't think there are any mission-critical items in the stores you can't actually buy, and none of the maps are purely theft-worthy. You get an achievement for doing all the breakins, that's about it.

This black market resellers have done a great damage to devs, more than piracy.

I did find it kind of funny when you get to the Conservatory level, and the shop keeper asks you to do a favor for him, he not only will comment that the other shops have been burgled, but he still gives you a discount because YOU are awesome... :D

You can honestly rob a store without attracting any attention (I can't remember if the explosion one alerts the npc), though if you do the shopkeeper will turn hostile and you won't be able to do any shopkeep quests. There is one black market store in the dust quarter that has a bone charm you can't buy that's lying inside the store. The only thing this affects is the songs of serkonos achievement. I know the wiki says you can't rob three stores for the last musicians to appear, but I robbed the first one and took only the bone charm from the dust store and still got ambushed. This could also be related to the musicians though since in the level before the conservatory I reloaded a save before I heard the musicians, and they didn't play their musical instruments after the reload :|

well,I robbed it. he ran off but did not count against stealth.

If your an achievement hunter, robbing all the black markets will lock you out of the "Songs of Serkonos" achievement.

Put a rock in your underpants and sling it at the puffin. Take the puffins beak and use it to stick up the black market pirates on your second trip to Brazil.
