Game and Audio Lag
I'm running Windows 10 and have an Intel 530 GPU, and despite getting 30+ FPS, I'm seeing the game run at about half speed (everything is very slow to react, the audio is stuttering as if the data isn't being sent to the audio out fast enough).

The escape menu part seems fine, though, so I suppose it could be intentional, but I've never seen this behavior on galaga arcade machines in the past. Have any of you experienced similar issues, or know how I could go about fixing this?

I'm having the same issue, I just bought it today along with Dig--Dug and Pac-Man. Dig-Dug works fine, but this one is giving me some serious audio problems.

Same here. Would like a fix.

I booted it up later the same day and it worked fine. I have 0 clue what's going on or why, but it's still something I'd like an explanation for.

Windows 7 here, same thing, sound is stuttering and game is running in slow motion. Pretty much just not playable.

[Edit:] D'oh figured out the problem in my case. Turns out my backup program was running in the background, the emulator seems hyper sensitive to disk IO for some reason. Once the backup was done the game runs fast and smooth.

I haven't bought Galaga yet, but I have Dig Dug and a couple of other retro games of the era on Steam and I am getting this exact same issue with them. Gameplay stutters slightly to very badly at random times and the sound is horribly choppy with popping and chirping sounds mixed in constantly. I had Win8 before upgrading to Win10 and before that I had Windows XP Pro on another older desktop system and none of these problems were happening on XP Pro. When I started using this pre-built system with Win8 on it, all of my halflife 1 based games and mods were nearly unplayable due to the exact same kind of horrible fps and sound stuttering that I am seeing and hearing in these retro arcade games. I am most annoyed about not being able to play old DoD due to this problem as it is my favorite old shooter. I've searched tirelessly through Google, Microsoft's knowledge base and various other resources for an answer or any solutions to this, but I've yet to come up with anything definative. I'm knowledgable about computers, but I'm not an expert on hardware and OS issues. Just applying common sense to what has went on with my games over the last few years and hardware / OS changes, I can almost certainly say that these performance issues are coming from Microsoft's Vista and later operating systems. The hardware hasn't changed that drastically, but microsoft has, and I don't think it's a change for the better.

As part of my new desktop build, I finally got a new dedicated GPU (GTX 1080) and the issues have disappeared for me entirely. I haven't made any other system changes besides adding in the GPU, so I think it might be related to the Intel GPUs/drivers, though I could be wrong here, but I don't have the time to fully debug the problem.

Same here. Bought them recently and all three games have the same issue. Lagging in game. Sound and game speed.

I have exactly the same problem. Freshly built system, Win10 + i5 7200k 4gb of ram, good. new and expensive WD hdd.

It's extremely annoying
I think this is the reason GOG was founded

Same issue here. Galaga game sound on start up good. On starting the game play, choppy sound and slow gameplay.

This seems to be the case as I have 4 PCs and it runs fine on my Intel & NVIDIA GPUs.

Has this SERIOUSLY not been fixed yet? Same. Modern hardware, ancient game, actual USD used to pay for it- f**king unplayable. Who is responsible for this and where can I beat the s**t out of them? tyvm

So, I recently just had this issues with the entire collection: Pac-Man, Galaga, and Dig Dug.
Turns out, for me, I had to go to my video card setting in the Nvidia Control Panel (3D Settings/Manage 3D settings) and turn of v-sync, as they in game options do not have the selection to turn it off or on.

Long story short, I was going crazy with this and then fired up the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, and it was doing the same thing. I went into the game video settings and it has the option to turn of v-sync: problem solved. So, that is when I decided to just turn it off completey.

Now, it does not make a different for me, as I just play on my TV through HDMI through the 1660 Super.

Hope this helps anyone else out there, as it drove me nuts for a couple of days.
