For me, I enjoy MS Pacman a little more for its board and layout variety, the sense of progression as you improve and more random elements based on the ghost movements.
The game remains very motivating for me get better at it and playing it on an arcade cabinet is amazing.
You can't go wrong with the original of course either; it's the grand daddy of them all and has accumulated such an incredibly rich history and legacy, drawing players over multiple generations to its simple, addictive game-play.
Ms.Pac-Man starts becoming hard when you get forcibly "slowed down", so all the ghosts now move faster than you. (on Pac-man this happened on the 9th "key" stage).
Basically ms pacman is pacman with more colors in the levels and girly themes. Its a bit more unique and fresh but pacman is a revolutionary classic. Both are worth owning.
Never happaned like that in the ORIGINAL MS. PAC I'm from the 80's era?!
Agreed both are classic games and people should just get both if they are interested. Hell wasn't ms pacman just a glorified mod that Namco liked so much they slept a price on it?
I really wish Ms Pacman had got more attention in championship. Or hell make a whole new one, ms Pacman edition.
The random ghost AI in the beginning of levels can be quite frustrating at times and kill you when you really did nothing wrong. there was a reason the original game was programmed the way it was. the game was obviously too deterministic, but the way the designers went about solving that problem in Ms. Pac-Man was less than ideal in my opinion.
So as much as I like Ms. Pac-Man, i have to say the original Pac-Man is the better game.
