PS4 controller is poor for this game.

If you're considering it on PS4,

a) Left thumbstick / game pads control movement and cannot be changed.

b) Lazy response from the controller results in missed turns and wall hangups more frequently than in the arcade. I will not be getting AGS: Pac-Man as following patterns requires precision response.

Pad support in general is pretty bad for these releases.

you're much better off with a joystick.

controller pads just aren't worth it for these games.

with an arcade stick, i can use all my patterns, and control is flawless.

You can, but I like to use the arrow keys on my laptop's keyboard, since it's not a tricky game on the keyboard, like Dark Souls, or Project Cars. (I have neither, and they're both published by Bamco)

Just so you guys know.. stick reaction times are supposed to be poor.. its how the original machines made their money... if they let it be as accurate as players wanted it, they would never make any money... there were always guys that could play all day on a single quarter..

You are wrong. I played this game in the arcade when it first came out. Since then I've played it at locations when found. I also played the table top version meant for bars. There was nothing wrong with the machine joysticks or their response. For example, with arcade PacMan, there was no trouble following patterns.

Okay, glad I'm not the only one with this issue. Was starting to think it may be my XBone pad, but I just played some classic Mega Man and all was fine. Ugh, too bad I bought this outside of Steam or I'd be setting up a refund.

Yeah, REALLY sucks with XBOX one controller too. Keeps pulling me back to the left and getting me killed. Works fine with every other game I play but Pacman and Ms Pacman. Maybe I'll try that old madcatz joy.
