Speed-Up Hack Exist in-game?
Does this play at Regular Ms. Pac-Man speed, or at Top Speed like the real arcade machines?

No speed-up hack in the games options.

Huh, so I guess thats what it is that I'm noticing.

I was just lurking the board for this game because while I'm not familiar enough to know what the Top Speed thing is, but I am familiar enough with the game to notice its noticeably slower than the arcade cabinets that I've played. Glad to see I'm not imagining it, and I'm surprised it isn't mentioned more. I had to scroll down a few pages to see you mention it, and no reviews that I read took note of it. It is definitely a deal-breaker.

I've noticed the slow pace this game plays with, which bothers me. Since I am used to playing the faster pace on the cabinets, adjusting to the slower one is extremely difficult.

The fast speed version is easier, I with it and Pac Man had the option and the rapidfire option for Galaga.

I don't even care if using the mods would nullify getting on the leaderboards (although seperate leaderboards would rock.

This plays no where near the ORIGINAL SPEED she had but the ghost don't seem affected at all from their original speed/:

Yeah, I actually went and bought this game just last week years after making this thread and realized it does not play at the turbo arcade speed and it is much worse. Also, the input lag is terrible in this version. Definitely do not buy.

Yes... I have been playing this version for a long time. Then I went to try my practiced hand at an actual arcade! I was like WOW what a difference! The Arcade-version was SO MUCH faster. The Pacman to Ghost ratio I found actually less challenging, in the real version. (That's how I felt...) I was able to play more easily. I felt like I could master the arcade version very quickly. But of course, it might get expensive. I might even get to a point, where I don't lose.

The entire game was almost very ORIGINAL if ONLY THE SPEED WAS CORRECT!

From my understanding, the speed hack was a pack and was never supported by Namco. That said, I want it also!

The only reason they come up with it is because people were lasting too long in the game on one quarter.. It got you to the harder part of the game quicker and you died quicker. dying = more quarters = more profit

Right, but this is a home version, no qtrs required. The least they could do was bury it under options.

I was watching someone playing the Arcade 1Up version, and that one comes with the speed up. It's just the Steam versions that don't have it.

Yea and that's what makes this the inferior version.
I had some version of Ms. Pac-Man as a kid, but I actually found out a few days ago that it was just a faithful recreation called "CHAMP Ms. Pac-Man" by someone calling themselves CHAMP, obviously. Not sure it had the speed hack but I don't remember it at all. Why is that better? It just seems to make the game way too easy even though I'm not and never was particularly good at it.

I mean, I guess there's no reason not to include it as an option, but if it's always been a hack then at least it definitely shouldn't be considered default
