ive just installed ms pac through steam but when i try to start the game it comes up a black screen with a white square in the middle how could i get it to work

thats a 1st. i downloaded mine and its just fine. try uninstall and install again to see it works. and if it does enjoy the classic madness and good luck on stage 17

Also check your graphics card settings. I had a similar issue once and it was due to having two graphics card on my laptop.

If you do have a laptop with two graphics card, an Intel Graphics Card embedded as primary and also a secondary graphics card, it means that your DISPLAY Graphics Card settings must set to use primary graphics card on all applications as a priority.

I do have my settings as follows:

In your library. You will see mspacman listed.
Right click on the game (In this case Arcade Series Ms Pac-Man))
Select properties at the bottom of the pop-up menu
Select Launch Game Option
In the box do TYPE:
-wfindow 1024

You can set it bigger by TYPING a bigger window size:
-window 1980

OR just for maximum default window size
-window

I do this so that I can swop between Steam and other programs instead of running games fullscreen
