Yup, all three that were bundled really need full screen.

Press Alt + Enter and it should load up in fullscreen mode in future.

You can go to settings and press the space bar until it is fullscreen.

no you can´t get THE GAME to fullscreen, I don´t want like 40% of the screen is black and the game is just a stamp in the middle.

I mean, don't buy ARCADE games if you want them to support your modern monitor. epitome of idiocy, either way it can looks awesome if you zoom properly.

from the technical perspective :
set a Second 16:9 monitor and flip the screen by 90 °.
now start the game and go to options.
press spacebar until the gamewindow border is fullscreen.
now stretch the gamewindow to a size that fits to your monitor.
you should be fine now.

The arcade machine has a vertical monitor so a modern widescreen monitor is going to have borders. Hell, you'd probably still get some top and bottom if you turned the 2nd monitor on its side like Raumelch suggests. It's a limitation of this universe.

+Fullscreen, and I don't mean native fullscreen, but a windowed fullscreen without the border graphic background. There was a Microsoft version of DigDug back in the the Windows 98 days I had on 3.5 disks, Microsoft Return of Arcade. That worked much like that pinball game in Windows 95 except you could resize it to fit top to bottom, even on a widescreen. You would still see your desktop, but that didn't matter as long as the game itself in its own window was full. Sadly, I have since lost my MRA disks and the backups I had of the copied 3.5 disks (I backed them up onto an external) So I bought this because I eventually lost my copies, and the originals were lost long before then. I do hate how they use backgrounds on these titles, at least just leave it as a window-mode only with the ability to resize. :/

Z/X works good enough if you want full screen vertically.
