Really my best is N 40, S 65, it has a ton of open space to start your base.
P.S. I have only tried it on Desert Planet (First planet) so I don't know if it works for other planets! Re-post if this was helpful!

The best locations depend on the Planet.

These are the co-ords of my successful bases.

D Class Planet - N5 E38
F Class Planet - N0 E0
M Class Planet - N14 E105
S Class Planet - S60 E153

All these bases reached 'Consolidation' (e.g. 300 colonists)

There is no best or worst, all that really matters is that there is enough room to build a base big enough for 300 people.

Actually, I'm not sure of the location but I once landed in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ravine. MOUNTAINS ALL AROUND ME. I didn't realize this when I started but I couldn't even get a factory in because of how small it was. I died from having no spares > no power supply > no water > no oxygen/food

It does matter

This is exactly what I've been looking for in a Class S! Very good coords, thank you for sharing.

I have noticed that others have picked the same location I on the second planet, I did on my first planet, so I am going to try it again. I placed my base at 0 North by 0 East.
After a lot of effort and rebuilding and replacing site areas, I was able to get 700 people on my base. Seems to be capped there, at 701 I keep losing colonists to everything and very hard to get more, even though I had more space. Also, could no longer maintain a level of Good, on Decent after that. Every other colonist ship lands with intruders at this point.

Whatever you do, wherever you go don't play on N0 W54
It is not for beginners. It is for Challengers.
Actually there should be a challenge for building a sustainable base for 30 people at N0 W54.

North and South cannot be in same coordinates. I think you meant to say N40 W65. It is reasonable wide are.
