The music idea works though i suspect that sometimes it takes longer than necessary for it to change. It's a shame that there is no indiciation on the day/night indicator that the sun is flaring, that would be ideal.
Once you see "Solar Flare Imminent" you done yiffed up as that means it's going on NOW you can try to hastily call a yellow alert but you'll most likely get several people shotgunned by radiation and in need of quick medical attention. So what you can do once a CC is up but before you have telescopes is call everyone in a few hours before each morning it's tedious but can save lives not to mention it'll help boost production since there are fewer things for people to get sidetracked with and maybe it's me but the colonists seem to focus on their jobs better when they hear the claxon going wild.
