Why People Say The AI Sucks -- Because It Does.
So there was another thread saying "give a video of proof of dumb behaviour"

Sure. This one's pretty definitive.

"It's not bad" he says. You obviously haven't read some of my posts in this topic to see just how bad it really is. Might I suggest you do that. Then come back.
I'm not the one who is frustrated by the AI. I understand how the colonists will function under certain circumstances and I take that into consideration. It is not the fault of the AI that you produced 1,500+ Bio-Plastic. Did it never occur to you to turn off production after you packed the first Storage facility to the rafters with Bio-Plastic?

The only issue I have with the AI is that from time to time Engineers will occassionally box themselves in when creating connections and I have to manually correct the problem. Those who complain about the AI do so because they don't understand it, and that can be frustrating. Once you figure out how they prioritize things, and why, you will realize that it is not the AI that was the problem.
You still have yet to read my posts it seems. It also seems your confusing me with the topic starter. So again I will still say, you must be some random noob that comes in and throws around his lack of knowlage as fact. Proof or it didn't happen still applies.
While you're fixing the AI, you might fix one more thing.... Why is it on Class S suicide missions, you can get a ton of trader ships and no civilian ships? You start out with 0 medics, and if you can't get any from the civilian ships, then the whole mission is pointless. Because the workers get injured in the first 20 minutes and won't do anything. So you can't continue.
Teh frequency of Colony Ships, Traders and Intruders is determined by your base prestige level. So, obtaining any of them early in the game is difficult. However, you should not begin mining unless you have a medic and medical kits to heal injuries. It's best to trade for metal in the early game and only begin mining once you have medical facilties.

And I still say that is only one stratigy. And not every one plays that way.

True! But the key point is that early in the game your base prestige is low, and so the liklihood of the arrival of traders, colonists and intruders is also low.

How you as a player respond to that is as you say a matter of personal strategy. My only point really is that my idea seems to work, whereas your approach of sending workers into mines and keeping your fingers-crossed that they won't get injured seems to be a problem.

Only if RNGesus decides to mess with me on those days.

Which it does frequently, from what you say:steammocking:

Well I have a saying. "I don't have luck, I have a curse. More to the point I have 'the curse of the Bundies'*." If any kind 'good luck' happens to me, immeaditly I start to build up an equal amount 'bad luck' the longer the 'good luck' streak the worse the 'bad luck' hits me.

*'The curse of the Bundies' is from the show 'Married with Children' aired in the earily to late 1990's.
