Whats the bad side of GM tomatoes or Onions if any?
The description says it might be bad for you so whats the consequences of it? i've been avoicing growing those because i dont know what will happen and i dont want my carefully crafted colony of nearly 150 people to crumble... havent lost any colonies so far

yeah i'm trying to see whats the deal with them first before i lose my colony

I think they grow VERY fast, but require more tending from your bio team. They let you put more production into one dome, essentially.

But I could be completely wrong.

I think they grow at the same speed, but simply yield one more vegetable per cultivated tile. Haven't really tested it so can't tell you definitively.

yeah i know the benefits they grow 4 instead of 3 but in the description it says it might be bad for you and even the developer quited the description so jut wanted to know what are the bad consequences

I ran a colony of 300+ people for probably 100+ days with only meat, wheat, and GM tomatoes. Never saw an issue.

"People say it might be bad" looks like a poorly-placed real life reference about all the noise surrounding GM-related research and farming.

I think that might be a little joke.

Say no to GMOs! :KHappy: I also think it's the same speed as regular tomoatos with one more per yield.

They grow 4 instead of 3, high production and high maintenance. I built a few of them and it doesn't look like they do anything bad. Probably just a say no to GMOs reference.

There's nothing wrong with GMOs, it's just politics. The plants in the game simply yield one additional food. You might run into an issue of malnutrition if that's the only plant people use to make meals, but that's true of any food product.

I feel like the description just poke a fun at real-life anti-GMO movement. Look, why worry about GMO in this game at all? We can grow our own meat in the Lab.

That just came out wrong.

But yeah, it's just a little joke about the real life anti-GMO movement.

There is no downside.
They are awsome ^.^
Tomatos and Onions are the base of the best combo you can make!
Tomatos + Onion + letice = salad
Tomatos + Onion + peas = salad
Tomatos + letice + peas = salad!
The only one that doesnt work is letice, peas and tomatos.

So 3 out of 4 potencial combinations produce a non-basic meal and by varying the proportions of the diffrent types you can control your production of both food and starch and because they all have the highest production rates of all the crops they give you the highest possible outputs!
So. GM Tomatos + GM Onions = awsome! ^.^

Oups. letice + onion + peas is the combo that doesnt work. heh corected that
