Modding Roadmap and Updates
Hi all,

I've created a Modding Roadmap[trello.com] to keep everyone in sync with what's going on.

It's for modders to tell everyone what they're working on, cooperate with each other and avoid working on the same thing!

It's for anyone else to give feedback and suggestions!

I went through all the suggestions in this stickied thread and already added a few to the roadmap that I intend to do at some point. You'll notice that I'm not currently planning on changing the AI but that's just because I'm doing simpler mods first to get familiar with the code. Only then will I tackle the bigger issues.

I am also in the process of adding my mods to Nexus Mods[www.nexusmods.com] but because Planetbase isn't in their database, they have to manually approve it. Mods are now at Nexus[www.nexusmods.com]. I hope that everyone else uploads the mods to Nexus as well so we keep them all in the same place. (If you have a suggestion for other place just let me know)

I already know of a couple people interested in modding Planetbase and I'm sure there'll be more. I hope that we stick together and cooperate with each other. I've done the roadmap with that in mind but I'm obviously open to suggestions if you think there is a better way to achieve that.

I'll work on a modding tutorial at some point but I'm not the best at doing guides so wouldn't mind some help in this matter. However, if you have any question feel free to hit me up. I'll get back to you ASAP.

Thanks all!

PS: Mr. Dev, if you see we're planning on doing something that you also have planned, would be nice to let us know so we focus our efforts somewhere else. ;)

I'm making this the main thread for mod updates so everything's in one place with the added bonus of bumping the information above.

Edit:
All my mods can be found here[www.nexusmods.com]!
--- End Edit

My next mod will be to loosen the restrictions on placing structures. I'd like to enable building on top of hills but I'm not sure I can make that look good.
I also want to add a way of aligning buildings for OCD people (including myself) but that might be for another mod. :)

Here's an early progress screenshot.[i.imgur.com]

So close together! ALL THE WANT!

I've updated the first comment with a link to the mods.

I've added the FreeBuilding just now which allows you to build structures closer to each other and on top of resources!

For example, you can recycle the ship and build a big storage to cover all the resources and they'll be accessible from inside the storage.

If you hover the mouse over the sun light bar, it tells the day and hour.

The mods are finally uploaded on Nexus Mods![www.nexusmods.com]

Thankyou jfarias.

Well, for some reason the mods don't load for me. I ran the patcher, put the .dll files in the folder you mentioned and in the game itself it says 1.1.0

so that should be good. Just doesn't work for me.

Which mods are you using?
In "Documents/Planetbase", there's a log file. Check if the mods are being enabled (search for [MOD]).

FreeBuilding and SkipIntro. Apparently SkipIntro is loaded but doesn't work for me in game.
[11:19:40 PM] <MOD> Could not load file or assembly 'Redirector, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies.
Failed to load type: FreeBuilding.FreeBuilding

BTW is it also possible to swap disasters on planets? I would love the red planet with the storms from the 4th planet.
FretfulShrimp Mar 24, 2016 @ 3:36pm
You need to hit ESC to skip the intro.

Regarding the FreeBuilding, you'll also need the Redirector.
Did you download the mod from Nexus? Did it not tell you that you needed the Redirector file?

Maybe I'll make a planet customizer some day. But it's not hard at all.

Aha, I skipped the ESC part. I checked the FreeBuilding description and I don't see a reference to a Redirector.

Edit: I'm an idiot, found the Redirector. Would be nice if you posted that as a requirement though :) Thanks for the hard work!

Well, I trusted Nexus would be able to deliver the message: http://i.imgur.com/3YJcKuC.png
This message should show up when you try to download the mod. Did it not show?

I think that did work but I just went way too fast and skipped everything. Sorry for wasting your time, the 2 mods work perfectly now :)

I've already trapped a few people because I built my stuff too close together :D

Not wasting my time. Just wanted to know that it actually shows. Hopefully, most people won't be in such a rush to try my mods that they skip it. :D

I absolutely knew this would happen! ahah

I've been thinking on how to fix this, either prevent it entirely or find a way to get them out of there but I couldn't think of anything feasible yet.
