for me it's a bit of the AI, but mostly QOL things that I would like to see.

I would love if they either made Planetbase 2 or a DLC for the current Planetbase.

Guys, if you really want the further development of the Planetbase game, write your wish and feedback to the author of the game by email and tweeter! (they do not read messages here on the forum).

It seems that now the author of the game is not aware that the fans of this game remained and that someone else needs the game.
If players begin to write letters to the developer and report that they want the game to continue, then perhaps the authors of the game will want to improve this game.
The emails of game developers can be found at http://madrugaworks.com/main/about.php
Twitter MadrugaWorks: https://twitter.com/madrugaworks

You can also find information on all communication options with the authors of the game in this guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1997926719

It could use a DLC or expansion or something.

It's a five-year-old indie game made by two guys. They've moved on.

Their new game Dawn of Man is selling quite well and they're actively supporting it with new content.

This is far from an ordinary indie game. Do you know a lot of indie games played by tens of thousands of people around the world?

What is another indie game where, years after the cessation of updates, you go to YouTube and Twitch and see every day how dozens of new players broadcast their games?
Countless videos continue to grow every day.

Tell me about such another indie game where, despite the fact that the game was released in only 4 languages, did the community of players translate the game into 30 additional languages?

Do you know a lot of indie games that both came out and were successful on such platforms as Microsoft Windows, OS X, PS4, Xbox One?

Two guys are just two company executives.
"Two ex-EA and ex-Ubisoft veterans of the games industry!"
And they have a subordinate team of employees and freelancers for each project.

They did not move forward and did not go far. Unfortunately.
Everything remained absolutely the same. In their second game only the design and name changed.
If you look closely at these two games, it turns out that the second game (DawnOfMan) is made on the engine and program code of the first game (Planetbase).
Absolutely everything remains the same!
Just replaced only one design and the people who were astronauts on an unknown planet (Planetbase), now become people on Earth (DawnOfMan).
This is the only difference between these games! :-(
These two games are completely identical as Siamese twins!

If you look closely at the new content that comes out in DawnOfMan, you will see that the only thing that is updated there and comes out additional is the design.
Only design and all!
For example, new faces came out for people. Imagine! They make new faces for people whose bodies are barely visible on the map!
A very serious and useful update to the DawnOfMan game, isn't it? :-)
Will any of the players even notice this game update? :-)
But this is a minor update in the company MadrugaWorks have been preparing for many months.
And there were no game updates related to the really serious development of the game. The entire engine of the DawnOfMan game still remains the same as it was five years ago with the game Planetbase.
For example, the artificial intelligence in the game remained at the same level and with the same shortcomings as in the game Planetbase.
It seems that they have no programmers in the company, but only designers. :-((

It doesn't seem like DawnOfMan is selling well yet. It was sold in 2018-2019, but in 2020 everything was already bad.
For the further development of DawnOfMan, the same high-quality update of the game is needed as for Planetbase.
Need, for example, DLC.
MadrugaWorks has already seen all the maximum of the game engine (program code) that they had.

What will happen next?
Perhaps MadrugaWorks will come up with how again from the engine of the game Planetbase to come up with a new design and make a new game based on the same old engine of 2015?
There were people in space (PlanetBase), then people on Earth (DawnOfMan), and can there be, for example, people in water?
Once again, it will be enough for them only to change the name of the game and a little design and a new game will be ready.

I believe that if, in 2020, the MadrugaWorks company releases a paid DLC for Planetbase, then they will earn much more than if they update DawnOfMan or start creating another new game.

Let's tell the MadrugaWorks company that there are a lot of fans of the Planetbase game and we want an update for Planetbase and that we are ready to buy DLC if this happens.
To do this, we need not only to write messages in the forum (they have already stopped reading the forum), but to write emails to the developer and in their tweeter.

Guys, did any of you write emails to MadrugaWorks at least once?
If you really want the development of the game Planetbase, can you write the developer of the game at least one letter for this?

Informative post dude, well done.
NerfBearger Feb 18, 2020 @ 9:08am
This game deserves some more attention and could do with some updates to boost it. There's obviously still people buying and playing the game considering people are posting about it TODAY five years on.

Yea quality games usually last the tyranny of time.
I keep coming back to it.
Its not a new game you know, its already lasted a fair amount of time and still sells well.
Why is that, because its a quality and reasonably well polished product / game.
Winner in the game industry standards.

Some devs realise, that no matter how good a game is, or how many features it gets, it will NEVER EVER please everyone that plays it.
Just teh nature of us human beasts !
We are like Murphy to them sometimes !

The game's AI is actually very simple and predictable but one has to realize this the hard way. I suppose.

You have such a huge experience and knowledge on this game!
What do you think, if the authors of the game will not continue to support the game, is it possible for the community of players to make the game better and continue the development of the game?

In 2016, a lot of work was done within the community of players, and without the participation of the authors of the game, two dozen mods were developed: https://www.nexusmods.com/planetbase

An example of bringing ordinary people together in 2016 in Trello to work together to develop the game: https://trello.com/b/y9mEYjdS/planetbase-modding

Question to all
- Is it possible for us now to unite with the entire community of players in 2020 and make a new wave of development of the Planetbase game?
