Annoying land limit

When Im building my base I have a lot space in some areas to expand it but the game doesnt allow me to build or move my camera over there and Im annoyed because I would have to take ages to build my base around the power and water area just to keep on expanding when still having all the structures fit in the cicle/building area limit. So this is more like a question to the devs if could they remove this limit or make it even bigger.

I feel the same way, I love this game, but either have large mountains as the border for your base or allow the player to set small, med, large, x-large maps to allow better customization and more of a challenge. I know they are working on easy/hard modes etc. Just not sure about map stuff.

It is a finite map, though it looks infinite. If you have the right spot there is plenty of room.

Would like to build underground, though.

I know when I first land I go too the edge of the map and see what is and what is not in the play area. I have had it many times where there is a really nice flat area to build, yet its not in the map.

I think the challenge of the limited space is part of the gameplay..

I also suggest when landing on planet, before starting to build take a quick look at the surrounding area. If limited space, exit game and choose a different landing lat/long location on the planet and try again till you find a pristine open area.

The map is procedureally(sp?) generated... it isn't a finite map, just an arbitrary construction/cam limit.

Is there a way to know how many bldgs we have besides manually counting them all? I have 560+ colonists and have just a small area left to build into. My base is completely connected. I built thru mountains on 2 sides to get the base connected. I may be able to connect thru the last corner. not sure yet tho. looks like i can. just have to demo some solar and batteries to connect.. muahhaaaa

This is an interesting discussion, but im thinking what is the best shape for the space colony so it uses less space?
For example like looking like a spiders web or Hexagon shape or something ?
Any ideas people....
