They don't generally arrive until you hit a level of 100, so take your time early on, but then just prepare for them.
Build a security center at a dead end and staff it with 8 guards. Make at least 8 weapons so they are armed. Have another 8 guards for "shift" duty while some sleep. Connect an airlock, build a landing pad, and demo your other pad.
If intruders land, the guards will immediately start killing them until they are all dead. Set your alert to RED as soon as you hear gunfire or see intruder alert warnings. You don't even have to deal with them at all. Go back to green when they are all dead.
Just make sure you have a sick bay with 6 beds nearby so they can get healed. Your guards will take some damage.
or do you mean an airlock is attached to the security?
You hacker fiend. ;-)
It's likely a signed int, so it would be advisable not to make it larger than 2.1 billion.
You can build interior around the landing pad with only one airlock. This pad is used for colonist ship only. You can turn on the airlock and welcome new people, or intruders will be isolated and suffocate. Another pad for trader, you can set by landing permission and don't use both at the same time. Guard is no need. If you want to get visitor to your base, you should build security center next to the landing pad, guards and guns have to be prepared. :)
Just a thought, but would it blow up the game if I removed the code for "time-to-next-intruders". If I can change the number, why can't I just remove that code part altogether?
Btw, I went into the save files and checked to make sure the number was the same on each save. I noticed on two of the saves (1, 2) the number I set was still there. But, on save 3, I have this weird number where my 999000000 was. It now reads 9.99E+08 What is that and what does it mean?
build some domes/pads in the following order:
landing pad - airlock - control center (with a few security cams) - your base (most likely a storage)
for later game you could do sth like that
Airlock \
Airlock - oxygen generator - control center - base
Airlock /
Probably you should build your mine at the other end of the base, so your colonists dont have to travel so far....

Base Invaders, that mod sounds perfect and would go well with changing the "time to next intruder" code. I just downloaded it but it says to put it into my "mods" folder. I don't have one in Planetbase. Do I just create one and put it in there?
Does anyone know why my 999000000 turned into 9.99E+08 in one of my saves?
