Driver Booster 3 for STEAM

Driver Booster 3 for STEAM

Driver Boost VS DriverFusion
Driver Boost has a visually "cooler" interface and it does seem to find a bit more of the outdated drivers, but... What are your thoughts? I mean DriverFusion is almost 3 times cheaper (for Russia) and I am not sure that nicer UI and a few extra drivers for USB ports are worth it.

Usually, Driver Fusion does not recommend USB port drivers because there are so many problems with it. This is because there is no guaranteed way to detect a correct driver for it as the identifiers of USB ports (which are necessary to detect a driver for) are too generic. You can still find these drivers in Driver Fusion if you go through device control. We could add an expert setting to health check if you feel there is a need for this though.

Treexy, that's ok when there is a smal discrepancy in the list of drivers in 2 similar applications. And I am definitely sticking to your app for now, at least becuase I already bought it and am using it :D DriverFusion seems to offer slightly older drivers and takes a bit longer to scan for them, but I am fine with that. It's not like you are meant to check for updates every day.
I am curios about the "Game components": what that stands for, whether it is present in DriverFusion (if it's really needed), what is that "game boost" and stuff.
At the moment, I see only 2 really good points for Driver Booster - indeed, nicer interface (nicer, not sure if more useful) and faster driver search. On the other hand, if those reviews are not a complete scam, maybe they do not search "cleanly" and get lots of... Well, bad drivers.

So, wanted to see what others think.

oh.. I also do not like the fact that it self-installs in autorun (or as service, did not check in detail).

Driver Fusion will always take a bit longer with adding drivers as we test all drivers on several computers before we release them to the public (this simply takes time). We prefer drivers that we have tested in order to avoid unwanted problems, rather than releasing everything immediately. Game components mostly seems like a DirectX update, which is not very useful as Steam is already installing that. Driver Fusion doesn't scan that fast because we check a lot of data to ensure the best driver compatibility. That said, we are currently working on an updated health check screen that will perform slightly better.

if you have extra hours to check what drivers actually need updating - do not use such software. noone forces you to

I find that over time both of these programs 'miss' things...where as Driver Genius or Driver Max won't.

@ Besputha Tomkova,

Please check our Russian site: {LINK REMOVED} for price in Russia.

Driver Booster has a large database for you to get what you want, including those are extremely old and rare. To guarantee update security at the same time, we check every update before adding them into database, and provide more than 3 strategies to easily prevent and repair any problems :)

I use Driver Fusion for cleaning drivers, DB for updating drivers.
I prefer to keep them seperate.

@[☥] - CJ -,

Could you please let us know what you think about the Driver Uninstall feature of Driver Booster?

Havent had a reason to uninstall anything that DB has installed or otherwise, so i cant really comment on that feature.

But as far as removing drivers go i only use Driver Fusion or DDU to clean Graphic Drivers, for Program Uninstalls i use the iObit Uninstaller that comes with Advanced System Care.

Thank you CJ. I mean Drive Booster can also remove drivers installed by other programs or users themselves:)

Oh gotcha.. yeah, never used DB to uninstall anything.. sorry

Ha~ Actually we don't make it a major feature :) Removing drivers, to some users, is kinda risky action because it may stop related devices from working...

Well i just used the driver uninstall feature on 3.0, which i just installed..
There was a driver update listed for hardware i no longer had installed, so i used it to uninstall it.

But as i suspected, there were no new drivers available on 3.0 from 2.4.
