On the subject: you could grass him out when you speak to the Don, but I don't know what happens if you do.
Jeff: I talked to Rhobart and he replied with the question if i was there to collect money. then i got a choice between taking the money and letting him wait. First, I let him wait to tell Rachel about Rhobart protesting to pay. It had no reacti9on to Rachel, she wouldn't talk to me. Then I went back to Rhobart to take his money. I also have collected the money from everyone else, except Danny. Do you know how to solve it? :)
The quest journal entry gives the names of the people to visit for the protection money. There is no Danny on that list, and that wasn't my issue anyway.
My roleplaying choice has been to keep the money and then go to Rachel in hope that it would lead to an option, but it doesn't. The quest really is only about collecting the money, helping Rhobart, negotiating with Oscar about "staying friends" and then deciding on whether to give Brogar the money or keep it. I've not encountered any resistance collecting the money, except Rhobart requesting protection and pointing at the Bog Bodies near the waterfall.
Anyway, afterwards I've walked around in the camp with three pieces of that broken sword and no options, asking myself whether the arena fighting and gambling stuff is the only way forward. And that's when I've done some searching at Google.
This is another attempt at trying to get in into Risen, and I've not quit early at the bandits camp this time - but I'm not excited yet either. Sam is the only exception so far, because when talking to him repeatedly he contributed a lot more than the others.
I'll probably reload the savegame to return to arrival at the camp, then use LP and gold differently.
