Is this game poorly optimized or is it my computer?

I set all the graphics to low as well as playing in a 4:3 resolution and the average FPS is around 15-20. My laptop can run Dota 2 and CS:GO just fine (not at 60+ FPS, but playable, at least for me) but it's unable to handle Risen.

AMD A8-6410 Quad Core Processor with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics

These are really poor fps. My penultimate computer ran the game faster than that.

Try out to set prerendered frames to 1 or 0 and look if it makes it better.

hmm that seems really weird, seeing the fps you get for those other games i would say Risen 1 should run easely above 60fps for you.

His RAM in fine, I could run the game great with 2gigs back in the day. It's probably just the low-end GPU.

Try to change the FPS via the ".ini"-Files.

you dont have a video card, how you want to play this properly? it's your pc and not poor optimization. You need a decent graphic card.

It's a tad more taxing than dota and cs, it's got a lot of trees, bushes, lights and shadows going. However you dont need a super powerful card to play it either. My old Radeon 5770 handled it great in 1080p.

I get 150 FPS (resolution 3440 x 1440) with a single Radeone HD 7950.
