The bandits are morally ambiguous. If you side with the bandits, you will help them to retake the town in chapter 3. If you ask around town after the Don returns, you will find out that some people are happy to have him back, and other people are upset about it, which I think is very realistic. I do like Fincher, the bandit captain; he is a good leader and he seems to care about the well-being of his men.
You can still play melee even if you join the Order. They encourage the use of the staff but it is not required. You can use a sword, and learn sword fighting from Edgar in the town, even as a member of the Order.
Only people who break the law get imprisoned in the monastery for a while and if they join the order the get a early release for their crimes.
People who won't join the order will just sit in the monastery as a form of prison and they dont suffer any other kind of punishment. In fact the punishment for crimes from the inquisition is much lighter then even most european crime punishements.
The prove is what happens to Scordo if you rat him out and the ends up in the monastery.
You do realise that breaking the law means "being outside" and "not being one of us"?
please don't ever talk about "european crime punishments" with such a comparison ever again.
Well that is the law there because the island is full of monster now and they also talk about this in the game: being locked in the town is better then getting eaten by monsters.
Also getting imprisoned in a monastery and being completely free there is even less punishment than the usual european crime punishment like e.g. in Germany
Some people like to be free and have a choice you know? "Being locked in the town is better than getting eaten by monsters". such a nice words for "Being a slave is better than risking a life to be free".
Well if life in monastery is so good in your opinion becasue you can sleep, eat, drink (of course you need to work) then yeah... But some people want more in life.
Oh man! Are you realizing we still talking about a game?
And you should really get a lesson in what slavery means.
You belitte slavery because you compare it to a light country imprisonment in a large complex like the monastery where you have absolutely no duties and can sit at a fire place at night and grill yourself some meat, drink beer and talk to whomever you want.
NPCs do nothing becasue developers can't do every script but that is the case of books/movies/games where people need to assume things. So there is nothing wrong that I assume NPCs need to work for that meat, drink or whatever. Becasue I don't see any logical reason in game nor any of NPCs says that The Order let you live here and they pay for everything, they give you food and drink and you can just sit here and do nothing. I assume they MUST do what the order says to get that food. The Order also needs "fresh meat" to fight with monsters so it's not like they are such a nice guys that want to save everyone.
In some cases slave and prisoner have the same meaning.
Thank you.
Please play nice, people :)
