Why wouldn't they be? You have the game, you can see for yourself, using codes is free, it won't make your PC explode.

How they would 'become' worthless? They are worthless by default, and have as much worth as a person attaches to them.
That system has been compromised on Steam for quite some time.

They are still worthless with Cheat Engine software, mods and save files uploaded on internet around.

Are the cheats bad for the achievments? Or do you still get the achis after activating minsky and codes?

I feel like we can easily nab anyone for achievement exploiting as most people that do that have 100% achieved in let's say 10 min span.

Achievements are blocked if you use the cheats. But you can save before you would get an achievement, exit the game completely to desktop, then reload your save and get the achievement after turning in the quest. That worked for a few as I was messing around. I've already beaten the game numerous times in the past with a disc copy before I owned it on Steam.

achievements won't unlock with test mode enabled. It also super easy to break Chapters/Quests that not even "setqueststatus" cheat will solve.


I just completed the game with cheats and it wasn't fun. I mean sure Godmode and unlimited Gold/Learnpoints help but as mentioned cheats do have a big downside.

Oh and timescale for faster moving etc. no need for external apps

Thank you! What if for the start I just use it to get some gold and LP, and then I shut the game down back to desktop, and reopen Risen? Will it affect my gameplay? I never enter testmode after this, just using what I got and playing through the game…

You don't need to shutdown the game. You just type the word for the testmode again to deactivate it.

"minsky" to activate, do your stuff and then "minsky" again to deactivate it. Keep in mind that it might take several tries to get it deactivated.


for gold you can use "give It_Gold x", for LP use either "spawn ch" or "learn lp x".

"Spawn ch" will spawn a character where you can learn all kind of skills, get LP etc.

If for whatever reason you run into problems with the story you can try "spawn sh", that will spawn a character where you can do story related stuff, activate Chapters and so on.
