Sound levels low after update
Anyone else having to drastically crank up the system volume just to hear the game?
It was working fine before the update, but now it's like I've had to turn my volume up to 70% whereas before it was sitting comfortably at 10%.
Weird. I'm loving the FOV slider haha
Having a blast with this game finally.

sound volume problem and small fonts

It's low because the speaker setup in options is permanently stuck in surround sound. The game is playing audio for surround sound even on headphones.

Camera is broken on mouse and keyboard as well, it resets every time you pick up an item.

So basically, they broke a functioning PC game while releasing an update for consoles, with zero testing on PC with mouse and keyboard. Game also shows "PRESS A TO CONTINUE" when launched, because that's what you want to see when launching the game by default on PC (no I'm not picking Keyboard mode).

PB's programmers are on the same level as Betheseda's, with 50 times less budget for everything they do.

Even on surround setup (5.1) sound volume is very low.

How do you know someone from PB was working on this project? You don't. You just talking random words like a lot of people in internet. Piranha Bytes is owned by THQ Nordic and all PB's IDs bellow to THQ Nordic.

Risen 1 got release on new consoles and got PC update not because of Piranha Bytes.

Because PB was known for creating quality, bug-free, stable games before this update.

Fixes for the low sound:

1) if you don't like messing with files: right click speaker icon in Windows task bar > Open Volume Mixer > readjust dial for Risen

2) If you do like messing with files:
Edit %LOCALAPPDATA%\Risen\ConfigUser.xml as follows:
<Audio
UseHardwareSounds="true"
>
<Volume
Master="765"
>
</Volume>
</Audio>

In my case the volume for the game itself in windows volume mixer was set all the way down. try and check that out. right click the speaker in your system tray and select volume mixer or wahtever it is called in your local language.

Same for me. The volume for Risen in Volume mixer was set to like 5% for some reason

EDIT: It seems to reset itself to low volume every time I close the game. WTF

You can make the following edit to avoid having to readjust it all the time:
Edit %LOCALAPPDATA%\Risen\ConfigUser.xml as follows:
<Audio
UseHardwareSounds="true"
>
<Volume
Master="765"
>
</Volume>
</Audio>

But please also report it via the bug database link in the following thread so the developers can investigate. Thanks.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I don't think PB were really involved here.

I used this. It works good. To bad we can't pick speaker types.
