Destroy Magical barrier rune

OK...so I have a love/hate relationship with this game, and this is an instance where I DESPISE this f;ing game...too many show stopping bugs...anyway, here is my question.

I am in chapter 4 at the point where I am supposed to talk to Illumar to get scrolls to defeat magic barriers. I DID loot the rune from the one spirit dudes tomb (cant remember his name)...and it WAS in my inverntory for sure. Now it is gone, and Illumar will not talk to me so am a STUCK. Can I buy them from someone else, is there another way to trigger that dialogue, is there a cheat code to get it back in my inventory? This is SOOOOOOOO frustrating!!!

It's possible that it's not a bug at all. Some requirements are just not that obvious. There are red and blue barriers. I remember that you actually had to touch a barrier to start a script.

In emergency you can use the
give It_Scr_BlueBarrer
give It_Scr_RedBarrer
commands but there's a good chance that you mess up the script and will break the game.

On second thought, DON'T use the cheats but google a walkthrough. I'm pretty sure, It's just a little more complicated and not a script bug.

Thanks MadAsAHatter...you are right that it is likely just a missing step. Already googled walkthroughs, and they all literally just say to get the rune from the sarcophagus (sp?) and then go talk to illumar...according to every single walkthrough (and believe me I have read them ALL) thats all there is to this quest.

and don't forget. A Fighter can't even use runes, you have to create a scroll from it. Only mages can use runes.
