How do you remove all journal entries for a quest?

I talked to Rudolf and got the quest "Lost Cause". He wants me to tell Severin to send Rudolf some help. Severin doesn't have any dialogue options related to the quest. I found out that "Lost Cause" is the quest you get in response to a quest from Severin called 'Overdue Situation Report". So you're supposed to get "Overdue Situation Report" first which sends you to Rudolf and then you get "Lost Cause" from Rudolf. Severin won't give me "Overdue Situation Report". I thought it was because I had an open quest connected to him. I finished the open quest and Severin still won't give me the next quest. I think getting Rudolf's quest too soon, messed everything up. If I can delete all journal entries for "Lost Cause", so it's like I never spoke to Rudolf, then maybe Severin will give me his quest and then I can do it correctly.

you can't remove journal entries, some might stick with you till the end of the game. I joined the bandits, so didn't have this quest, just told severin his buddies at the artifact site died.

I joined the bandits too. You told Severin Rudolf died? What chapter?

must've been chapter 1, I spent most of my time there. rudolf is the leader of the artifact site between the village and the bandit camp, there was a bandit quest to wipe them out. if you're not a mage, they attack you on sight and take you to the monastery, so the only way for me was to kill everyone and only after that did I approach severin's village, I didn't want to aggro everyone since they work for the inquisition as well, but it turned out to be fine.

Warriors of the order only attack you if you haven't joined a faction. After joining the bandits they didn't attack me. I never got a quest to wipe them out. I got a quest from Rudolf. According to a walkthrough I looked at, Overdue Situation Reports and Lost Cause are both world quests so it doesn't matter what faction you're in.

you're right, they don't attack bandits either, forgot about that, but I wasn't a bandit officially back then and I didn't get to talk to rudolf. I talked to fincher, he told me to wipe out the artifact site, so I did.

I had just completed chapter 2 but I reloaded a saved game from just before I gave Esteban Scordo's package. I talked to Fincher before talking to Esteban and then he gave me the quest you're talking about. There's about 6 quests you miss out on if you talk to Esteban first. So I'm gonna do those quests, repeat the 8 minor monastery quests you do as a bandit and then repeat chapter 2. It should be a lot faster than last time.

what are those 6 quests? I don't think I missed much aside from the mage-only murder mystery in the monastery and the quests required to become a mage.

Initially, I gave Esteban the package from Scordo before talking to Fincher. Then, when I talked to Fincher he didn't give me Conquest Of The Artefact Camp. Since I didn't get that quest I din't get quests related to it: Salvage Work and Hawkins Should Retrieve The Artefact crates, Tell The Don Of The Success In The Artefact Camp, Tell Fincher About The Strange Temple In The East, Treasure Hunter Wanted and A Job For The Triplets. That's 7 quests.

I did all of those. as I said, I spent a long time in chaper one, explored everything, killed most things, talked to everyone, did all the quests I could before I went into harbor town and met scordo.

Same here. I explored the whole island and killed everything in chapter 1 except ogres, ashbeasts and the scorpions in the ogre cave.
