I cant play !!!

my game just dont want to go. When i click start or launch whatever, risen just dont launch. What should i do.

Verify Game files
1.Restart your computer and launch Steam.
2.From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
3.Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game files... button.
4.Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes

What is your operating system? Is your graphic card amd? Then you have to manually install physX. I think there was an unofficial patch available. You can find it at https://www.gamepressure.com/download.asp?ID=61340

Exactly what happens when you try to verify game files? If there is a problem with any game files this will fix it

When I do it it just says "1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired", but nothing happens after that, even after restarting Steam. :(((

If i were you i would deleat the game an all the game files then re-download the game. Good luck and have an awesome day

You need PhysXLoader.dll in your Risen folder (bin)

Yeah this is weird. I have the same problem. Already played for 25 hours and now it's just not working anymore... -_-

EDIT : I tried this and it worked for me. I will try my best to translate (my computer is in French...).
1) Go to your hard disk files (often C: but could be another if the game is on an external drive).
2) Click on Steam
3) Click on the Common folder
4) Select the Risen folder
5) After that, for me, the .exe file was in the folder BIN (not sure why). Then right click on Risen and go to Properties.
6) In this window, click on Compatibility. I clicked on Execute with a 640x480 resolution AND Deactivate full screen optimization. After that, I clicked on Apply, lauch the game and it was OK (even if the loading screen took a couple of minutes to appear after a long black screen).

Hope that will work for some of you. :)

i just had to download physX and it fixed the problem for all three risens that would not launch and two worlds 2 that had the same problem
