Altars in Eastern Temple

Hi,
I'm in chapter 2 in that eastern temple,
but get stuck in the room where the altar is
when it ask me to put something on
I accidentally put a pile of dust,
instead for old busts,
I can remove it but when I try it,
my game froze and keep doing it ,
how could I resolve this,
there is a gate which now won't open and I can't go any further

Gosh! I've solved the problem! Even without loading an earlier game.
That was an unusual bug. Very good!
