Best strategy for idol farming?
Hi. I recently came back to this game and was wondering what the best strategy for farming idols is, since there are many bonuses based on time, areas, etc. Is it better to reset as soon as you're getting no reset fatigue? Or should I just max progress before resetting? Thanks!

Max your general progress. Max the levels of what you can, if possible, and then let it run until you can't advance.

This does not mean inching up in levels with abilities and such, but max level and can't go further.

If you're running into problems maxing your levels, reset when you cannot progress at a decent pace.

You also want to try doing the T2 final objectives for each non-event campaign as soon as you can, those up your idol gains in free play by massive amounts.

You also want to get several of the idol talents, though you want to balance your max level increases with the DPS gain ones.

If you can use it, when you're ready reset for idols, exit the game on steam before hand and do the reset on either Kongregate or the Mobile version for the idol multiplier given in exchange for watching an add.

I understand. I was hoping the Sprint Mode would give me an edge, but I'm really not sure it does. I'm currently looking at an overall ~8000 idols per run (if I leave it running for +12 hours, that is, a complete run from area 1 to ~1100). I'm not sure if that's normal, but that number seems very low to me (I have +3M idols).

I get about 3 times that per run on WW, with less than 1m idols.

Sprint Mode is not entirely that good of a thing unless you're willing to go for a pure speed team. I've gotten more out of the Idols Over Time talent than from Sprint mode and letting it run. The percentage increases by just waiting are extremely useful for it.

Currently for my WW runs of about the same time you're going, I tend to make between 24 and 28K depending upon just how lucky I am with boss idol drops and am currently at 1.72 million idols...several of which aren't in that optimal of choices, but I'm doing well enough not to bother with a respec and just grinding more idols.

I have all of T1 & T2 talents full, I have all of the T3 Utility ones, the Passive T3 ones are almost full, and the active T3 are about 1/3 of the way bought. I have a scattering of T4 and haven't done anything with T5 as of yet.

Talents up to T3 maxed out. Got up to level 8 of Idols Over Time, and I'm still on a 3K-idol run on Area 525 ~4 hours in. There's something I gotta be doing awfully wrong in this game.

In free play you get more gold?

Are you doing WW freeplay or event freeplay?

Event freeplay is pretty much only useful in getting the reach area 900 achievement and the spend event tokens one until you can complete the T3 last mission for WW or if you have enough to push on to unlock the next tier talents if you're close.

And for the spend the tokens thing, it's worth it just to go to the 30 minute CD ends and reset because it doesn't give anything different on completion.

This. I recently completed one of these objectives and it has already made a huge difference for Idol farming. Can also consider utilising spawn speed buffs (buff cards or via completing the missions); they will help speed runs up a little, outside of using crusaders.

The spawn cards can speed it up, but they're also something to be careful about wasting because they always seem to be the rarest of the ones you can get from the silver and standard chests, with the warps being the pain in the rear ones to get since they're only in the Jeweled or other special chests.

They're more useful for having specific things with missions.
