upgrade mission for a crusader with all epic gear?
Hi,

I could start an upgrade mission for Arachnoboddy who currently has the following gear rarity at the moment: epic, epic, uncommon.
However, for the uncommon gear item I already have both recipes for upgrading to rare and epic rarity.
I guess if I upgrade to rare, this gear item will be upgraded to epic by the mission - so far so good.
But what happens if I upgrade this item to epic rarity (so that all three items are epic)?
Will the mission be useless? Or will it upgrade one item to golden epic or even legendary?
Or will the mission become unavailable if I upgrade to epic before I start the mission?
And what about upgrading to epic after starting the mission?

Questions over questions... :caster_happy:

If you have him all epic, the gear mission would never show up. If you make him all epic while the mission is still available, you could do the mission, but would get no prize at all. In that case, it would be best to just let the mission pass, and get a new one.

Thanks for the info!
In that case I will probably upgrade the uncommon item to rare first, and then start the mission to upgrade it to epic... :-)

If you start the mission, and then make a Crusader all Epic, when the mission finishes you will get a duplicate epic which is broken down into crafting material.

That sounds like a waste of materials. Either do the mission or craft the epic. I'd personally craft the epic then let the mission timeout so I could get a replacement mission that would be able to reward something I'm unable to craft.
I know in my case, I can't just craft every epic recipe I get, because I don't have enough epic material for all of them. So, I'd probably also choose to craft rare and do the mission.

crafting the rare, doesn't cost that much, rare materials are easy enough to get. Epic materials are harder to get. And crafting an epic item costs more common materials.
Crafting the rare and doing the mission is basicly trading 10 rare materials+120 common materials for 10 epic materials+240 common materials.

I'll echo the several other posts in this thread that epic materials are the limiting factor for what I choose to craft.

Silver chests are just so easy to get that I basically treat common, uncommon, and rare materials as infinite and epic materials as a scarce resource. I have almost 2000 unopened silver chests, so if I ever want to upgrade a Legendary or craft a rare or epic item, I just keep opening SC until I have enough mats.

Given the same situation, I'll also echo the sentiment of crafting the rare and completing the gear upgrade mission.
