Posted some details in one of the new game forums to see if I actually get a response or a ban as expected. The reviews can't be stopped though and especially based on facts they cannot dispute. Sure, they have made their money at this point but it is worth giving others the option to see the true colors of this dev and decide for themselves.The game wasn't half bad to be honest. It was just never supported or updated as promised. To bad EA has to go this way.

The fundamentals are there but the execution is poor. Your character feels like they're running through peanut butter. The controls are just plain awful until you set them all up manually. The sound is actually worse than having no sound at all. The machine design is hilariously bad. It's like they looked at one picture of the machine and said yeah I can model that. The main missions are a joke. Heavy haulers don't dump ore in sea cans, and they don't use a crane to move those sea cans 200 feet. Shovel excavators don't break ice walls. Really a shame because they could have made an amazing game here. Maybe wait for a new version or a whole new game with the tech.

Very disapointing its not a simulation really the only simulation part is possibly sitting in the cabs.
The engine noise is only one level (if that makes sense) you cant hear it growl or shifting gears whilst driving these vehicles you get a radio I only recognised some of the classical music the other music I have never heard of I am glad that there is classical music in there as driving some of these machines can be frustrating at times.
Unfortunetely this is more of an arcade game driving experience and not a real world simulation I dont recommend it.

1)A very unique and interesting idea for a simulator, where you take the place of the users of giant machines used for various industrial purposes.

2)A variety of giant machines is incorporated into the game, ranging from giant lorries, to cranes and excavators.

3)Time trial challenges are available for some missions.



1)The game's sounds are pretty bad; so is the soundtrack choice.

2)The graphics could be somewhat improved, being a game released in 2016.

3)Walking animation is awful;the player is bobbing an awful lot,especially when running...

4)Controls are extremely complicated. Use of the control panel is a must.

5)The game missions become very repetitive after a while, making the game feel boring and stale.

6)The game is really short; It takes about 5 hours to complete the main story.

7)The game ending is very disappointing...



While the idea of the game has a lot of potential, the game itself has a lot of problems and weak points. I personally don't recommend this game. In case you would like to try it, I recommend you do so when it is on sale or if it is part of a bundle. I would advise you not to consider buying it on a full price.

this game is a good laugh. "Start up the hydraulic excevator", yes but almost every excevator is hydraulic. Every machine has a mechanical handbrake with sounds recorded from a car, not realistic at all. And then you have hydraulic pressure building up so that you need to vent it. "highly" realistic that you just vent out oil on the ground. hauling 300 tonnes in a machine that is probably 100 tonnes on a regular road is not legal. and to add insult to injury, it feels like the rig weighs 10 kg since it jumps around all over the place. tracked vehicles turn on the wrong axis. i can go on but i have made my point. the sense of scale is there and thats fun, but it is nowhere near a realistic feel

Giant Machines 2017 is one of those random simulators that were popular a few years back, this time focused on giant industrial vehicle operation. True to form, it's janky, ugly, often extremely tedious for no reason whatsoever, and not at all true-to-life despite that theoretically being the appeal of such games. It's kind of adorably bad (especially the hilariously nonsensical plot, in which you do literally all of the work to launch a space shuttle, including shutting down several disaster sites on the day of launch), and I guess some of the vehicles are pretty cool, but I still cannot recommend it under any circumstances.

Why is there a timer in a simulation game? You gotta rush to what... crash the machine?!

Clunky as all hell. holy moly, and the camera bobbing is insane when walking, cant even turn it off.

Machines are cool? but damn the bobbing is annoying.

I cannot recommend this game, no matter at what price.
The only pro in my opinion are the perfectly desigened machines.

Other than that:
It wants to be a sim, but apart from the controls it's rather arcady.
Sounds are mostly crap, for example engine noises are way too weak (missing bass) or hydraulics noises painfully loud with headphones.
The German translation is a joke btw, totally unusable.
The put-on (unrealistic) puzzles are nothing but a hassle.
The controls for all the more complex machines are really tiresome. Yes that might not exactly be the fault of the game as a gamepad or keyboard/mouse are simply not the optimal devices to control such machines, but there isn't any support for steering wheels and joysticks either.
The radio offers a wide range of awful music, but hey that's at least realistic.
And the worst thing, when you are supposed to load material using an excavator this simply isn't possible because almost all material chunks you take from a pile are simply disappearing through the bucket. Now loading 250 tons (game measurement) of material in almost empty bucket loads of 3-4 tons is a quite tedious job.

All in all this game feels like a burden and is no fun at all.

This game, while has good premise, is extremely liniar, and offers absolutely no freedom for the player. It's a very rigid go here and do this, with no opportunity to explore or just have fun with these machines. While the machines handle and perform brilliantly, I would have liked a little more time with each one, and been able to mess around with them outside of the set missions. A "freeroam" or "sandbox" mode for this game would improve it greatly, but, as it is, I cannot reccomend it.
