Please fix the easy suit breaches!
I can't play this game any more just because of this one thing.

I got this game way back in 2016 and loved it. It had it's issues but was playable so I left it hoping that stupid issues like this could be fixed.

No you haven't even touched it.

You take suit damage that requires you to patch with tape every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ second of play but now you seem to have removed all the tape there was from the crash site and for some weird reason you managed to remove the inflatable habitat as well.

The game is utter garbage to play atm simply because you stub your toe on a small rock or walk up a small incline and all of a sudden you take damage to your space suit that requires you to use all the tape you have in your possession.

If the suits are that fragile how the hell did we survive the crash?

Sort your game out and I may change my review back to positive but for now it remains as a negative one.

5 years and this crap is still in the game!

I haven't had much trouble with the suit breaches and they are only a serious enough concern when you are low on suit tape. Within your first few hours you can easily create your own suit tape and crude bandages.

The majority of the incidents that set off suit breaches can be averted easily enough, like:
Sand storms, simply stay out of them until they pass.
Don't walk into urchins.
Be aware of creatures around you and retreat if you know it's going to be a problem.
Avoid facing forwards down hill while you are on it to prevent being dragged down to the bottom.
Avoid running on sharp inclines that lead to airtime.
Don't go out without suit tape and bandages.

Those are simple enough to do.

Each play through I've attempted for a while I've only ever had one roll of tape to hand even searching the debris from the crash I've only ever had enough tape to cover 2 suit breaches.

Honestly you do not have to do much to get your suit breached before the AI update in this latest patch where they will listen for you then attack you could survive a little while longer but now your screwed suit breaches and impending death respawn is all your going to get.

and yes I know how to avoid the stupid ass suit breaches or at least be careful enough to try and avoid them but should we really get a suit breach just for walking up a slope or dropping a small height? it's beyond belief how stupid the suit breaches are and it hasn't changed since day one of EA back in 2016, 5 years ago.

That's 5 years of development where walking forward will result in a suit breach!

Started another game last night after many years away. So far pretty enjoyable but yeah, suit breaches are way to prevalent. You try going up a steep incline and boof, suite breach. I can imagine you started sliding back but surely all those bits that are vulnerable should have extra padding. Knees, elbows etc. Combat breaches, sure, absolutely, lotsa spiny things that can poke holes. Having a small mishap whist traversing terrain shouldn't cause a breach that easily.

Agreed

I second that.
What's even MORE annoying is the damage the suit takes from a slope. Are you serious?
I try to get up a hill, i slide back and i take suit damage.
What? Or even better: What the hell?

Whose stupid idea was it, to add suit damage after you realize you cannot climb up the hill?

With the recent patch, I've found suit breaches only come from being caught out in the open when the wind kicks up, creature attacks, and running into spiky plants. If you know what to watch for you can avoid most breaches.

The breaches and damage from slopes are something I disable. Makes some sense to have damage for a steep slope but not for a gentle gradient.

You can breach and get hurt from running up an easy slope and getting a tiny bit of air at the top. On a planet that seems to have less gravity than earth that just doesn't make any sense to me at all as I'm fairly sure having two left feet and no coordination isn't a prerequisite for getting into astronaut training.
