Drones and slopes
Current save for the most recent patch I repaired an ompa and it was pootling about the base for a while but then it decided to wander away from the base, up a slope and is now seemingly stuck in the slope.

Earlier today I made a combat drone and it too wandered off and up the same slope as the ompa also getting stuck.

Could really do with an option to dismantle drones in the field as a fallback option to reset when they get stuck.

I agree with the suggestions. I have an ompa and mining assistant stuck on a slope and it took a while to put the resources together to build the darn things.

We should be able to disassemble or reverse engineer anything we build (with the right equipment).

Maybe also allow for use of explosives to blow up the rock or other objects that are involved in being "stuck or inaccessible", then we can repair what gets broken that way whatever AI is involved in the droids getting stuck is "eliminated when blown up"?

Droids should also have a action queue so you can have them mine specific things until full or perform actions on a specific task like repair on a specific item or list of items and/or area.

Im going to third this suggestion. I also last night just finished one of each an ompa and mining assistant and they were just like moving around no problem until they got to the slope, I then spent what seemed like forever trying to get them out of there but wasnt happening. Not sure what to do with them now.

I have not had anything get stuck, that putting it on follow me would not get them unstuck from. But, I did have an issue with the mining drone going submarine on the sands when I tried to get it to follow me off the "Grid" area of the map.

Yep, I also have a security drone 'protecting' a slope and not reacting to the 'follow' command.

I would Love a tool that would let us take the stuck droids apart and putt hem back together in the lab. Let us build this tool, it would be worth the price to get our groids back to work. i have 80% of my droids stuck on a slope and a buggie stuck under the ground on my base.

i had the same problem with a security drone .

i got it unstuck by luring a crab near by untill the drone angaged it , then it got unstuck and i made him follow trough a less inclined area .

seems the AI goes nuts on steep inclinations. :steamhappy:

It occurred to me that if droids could have some kind of noclip or fly mode that engaged when they're away from a player they could traverse the map far more easily and being proximity based would be one of those behind the scenes tricks that games employ to get things working.

Another option would be to have them do short teleport jumps when the player isn't around in a similar way to the tractors and trucks in satisfactory that drive as normal when you're close by but to save on resources they hop from waypoint to waypoint the rest of the time.

a game mechanic where the follower simply teleports close to the player .

problem solved. :steammocking:

/summon is a thing but throwing in a teleport feels kind of cheaty.

Maybe once droids can get onto spaceships they could get loaded into drop pods on the space station or a lab module to craft and call them down from orbit but teleportation would end up with demands for players to get something similar and maps would shrink as a result.

/summon has been a god sent. allowed me to get things back to me and playable again in the game. Thank you developers for this command

Borked the pathfinding with them.. Made stone walls around my base, with 4 drones in the base... now, the drones won't leave the formerly enclosed area (even after restarts)..
any hints?
