Osiris: New Dawn

Time to look at the Oxygen system
Right now the Oxygen system doesn't serve much of a purpose, and it really hasn't had much of a purpose since EA launch.

I think that it's time that we started to look at oxygen as an actual survival element.

Are you referring to the Oxygenator or how the player consumes oxygen?

The fact it auto refills basicly makes it not needed at all. But with the weight of the only things that hold Oxygen right now it would be a pain to haul it around all the time. I think they should add a lighter way to carry it and pumps and pipeing for gases and liquids. That or make it where the containers hold more and fill faster. If they done something like this yea they should cut out the auto refill of oxygen in the suit and buildings.

I think there is a way it's called Oxygen Tanks and are constructed in the Printer and the Fabricator.

Those tanks only add like 40-60 oxygen, at the rate you use it right now you would have to make tons of them and i am not sure how much they weigh. But yea assuming they dont weigh much and would hold alot more than they do now they are good to use and get rid of the auto refill.

Then I guess we have found something that needs tweaking.

Agreed.

They are built there, but you currently can't build them. Even if you have the resources in your inventory. But yes, an Oxygen mechanic would be nice and add another survival element. Some people won't like it tho (since you can also opt into free running around not worrying about oxygen).

I just built one and i'm checking for functionality. They work but doesn't seem to be effective unless you are in very deep distress or emergency use.

Whaa? I tried a few days ago, didn't let me. Where did you build it? At the Fabricator or 3D Printer? Also, what materials did you use?

I built mine from the Fabricator and it used 2 Steel and 25 Oxygen. Works the same on the Printer. But still no practical use for it right now that I can see other than in the field and in an emergency situation. Because if you make it to this level where you can build them you will have found better ways to save on O2 any how.

Hmm... it didn't work for me before. Weird. Will have to test.
Currently I only use it when I am low-leveled and need to run great distances without stopping.
Same when mining Azurnium.

That's okay you didn't miss much, it got in the way most of the time and kept getting lost or stuck on something and had to go out and do a rescue all the time.
