Bio dome and planting

Hey guys with the new update does anyone know how to plant? I've looked for seeds but can't find any I've also tried planing berries because I saw that was suppose to work. But to my dismay I can't for the life of me figure it out I have the smart planter buns and they have soil. Any advice or input would be appreciated.

Use the berries you harvest or the carrot and potatoes you get from visiting mines and such (no seeds that I know of). Just have them in your inventory when you approach a planter that has soil already.

Steps to Properly Plant and Harvest:

1- Build Biodome.

2- Build bins/smart bins inside biodome.

3- Make sure you have soil and seeds.

Soil is created at the Chem Station/Chemistry Table from 2 units of sand (can be gathered with a shovel) and 1 unit of poop (periodically gathered from the Excrement Collector).

Seeds are any of the following:
- Apples
- Berries (the blue ones, not the red ones)
- Potatoes
- Carrots

These are still not plantable afaik:
- Bananas
- Red Berries

4- Interact with bin. This will allow to pick one out of the 3 bins.

5- Interact again to use soil on your selected bin.

6- When a bin has soil in it, it will allow you to interact with it again, and allow you to select one out of the 4 seeds detailed above.

7- After the seed has been planted you can give it a minute or 2, and when you interact with it again it will provide you with free fruits/vegetables from whatever you have selected before.

Thx Bloodwolf, your answers are always really in-depth and super helpful!

I think it would be cool to have labels for each separate plant so we know which seed has been planted in which box. Could be digital like the depo or gas/liquid tank display.

Also, all plants look the same right now. This sure is low prio, but I hope they change it in the future. I'd also love to grow actual trees inside the biodome. Would look really cool imho.

I wish we could actually have more fruits/vegetables to grow, variety is always nice and brings certain realism and utility to the game (if they add medicinal properties for example).

Hmm trees would probably need a bit more work, not sure how much they'd grow, but yes, would be cool. And yes, would like to grow Blue Palms :) and other plants too!

Well, the trees don't have to be as huge as outside. But imagine a biodome that is completely filled with plants, like this:
