Quick guide to killing Crabs.
Cripple it! Just tear off their legs!
The chisel in third person mode seems like the proper tool to do so. I think one leg makes it die quicker (With only 3/4ths of the health bar needed to kill), but 2 insta kills.

Also, if you are going CQC against a crab, before it charges run through/ behind it. That way it charges around you.
