DLC insanity or 1 time buy and play them all?
I am really anxious that many board games will cost money to play.
Can a dev clear things up for me and others as well? Kind regards.

Which is obviously a cost you can split with the friends you play regularly with, and gets you access to ALL games in the tabletopia library. I'd rather play officially licensed versions than have illegally created mods on tabletop simulator which may or may not get taken down but will definitely not be favourable to the creators.

Good for you, i tend to vote with my wallet personally.

Some ppl dont enjoy being double dipped, the whole reason why Im gaming on PC and not on console.

Lets just say that with that amount of money I could get myself at least 2. 4 packs of TTS and play without monthly fee

As to what comes about whackjob tables: its not my concern really.

Another good example is a game with expansion packs, where basic game is fully free to access while you need premium access to play basic game + expansion packs.
@Wolfheart Thanks for explanation.
so is this premium access a one time payment? is it per game, or a way to buy for all games or how will it work? and once bought, does only host need to have it so they can host for 2-4 people or do all 4 people need to be premium/etc?

This part is really grey. Can a dev answer this please?

Example : If I pay $120 a year then I can invite 3 friends that are using only the F2P and play a 4 player premium game? Or do those friends need to be on the $60 a year subscription at the minimum?

If you pay for premium then yes, you can play all premium games with people who pay $0.

Yet you'll gladly steal content. Nice moral high ground you've got going there buddy.

Oh please enlighten me: how am I stealing content?

Or am I supposed to check each and every workshop content before downloading just to make sure its legal?

Ever heard of DMCA claims that you cab submit IF the content in question was uploaded without permission?

Or you are that armchair lawyer who preaches about morals and copyright yet have downloaded at least once in his life illegal contemt?

Oh well, since according to copyright trolls even watching LP-s is considered stealing nowadays

When I put down money for the game, I wpuld hardly consider it as stealing

Anyway i will leave this argument here as I have a feeling that this wouldnt go anywhere.

you can buy subscription for your gaming group for $10 per month - and play any premium game with them or anybody else you will invite - other people can have free accounts or do not have any account - if they will play from their browser

also can use Tabletopia without subscibtion to try out many games. It is Spotify approach - better to have access to all catalog to explore it and find for yourself many new titles, but not buy titles one by one - as it was previously for iTunes.

thanks for the response.

sorry but i rather buy my games one by one. i play mostly solo board games so premium account is way to expensive for someone like me (even for 'gaming groups' it's too expensive). i love tabletopia, really hope they will come up with a different payment option. i would even consider a life-time subscription one-off-payment..

It is also possible just to use our basic account levels and play free games if you do not want to buy premium accounts.

Most games? How do you know which games are free? I checked the whole list, and I found that most games are "available to subscribers" (even Chess), while there are also a few demos available. Couldn't find any that mentioned it was a free game.

Like Nazar, I'm also curious as to which games are free and which are not.
isu-kun Oct 14, 2016 @ 10:56pm
Current premium games are:
Mage Wars Academy
Viticulture: Second Edition
Chaos & Alchemy
Imperial Settlers: Atlanteans
Imperial Settlers: Why Can't We Be Friends
Terra Mystica: Fire & Ice
Art of War: Provinces
Battleground Fantasy Warfare
Berserk: War of the Realms
Grimslingers
Nord
Potion-Making: University Course
Primordial Dungeon
Primordial Solitary
Rome: Rise to Power
SeaDogs
Super Hero Monkeys Vs. Secret Agent Android Kittens
testbgbg (Not sure what this is)
Universal Tapestry

If it's not in that list, it should be free.

Love the concept and design but based on the fact that a WoW sub is cheaper I kind of want to pass, if I could buy the games I want to play as one off purchases I would be much more interested.
MakoSipper Oct 15, 2016 @ 4:36am
Where did you see that list, isu-kun? In game? Universal Tapestry for example isn't even on that bgg list. So most games are free? Hmm...

@smetch: Out of the 200+ games on the list, you wanna play those from isu-kun's list above? If not, most of Tabletopia seems to be free anyway.
stubar Oct 15, 2016 @ 4:47am
you still need to subscribe to play with 3+ friends even for the "free" games?
